Summertime, not Slumbertime

So I am back after 3 weeks in Europe and Great Britain (which is of course not really part of Europe, only sometimes....). I played 5 shows with my newly reformed band SKIN, which was awesome in the truest sense of the word, or maybe even beast, which is what my two 13-year old students are saying instead of awesome, which is awesome, or beast depending on your taste. We played 3 sold-out warm-up shows by ourselves and also the huge Download Festival with ZZ TOP, WHITESNAKE, DEF LEPPARD, JOURNEY. And then there was that last-minute show with CHICKENFOOT, which was the icing on the cake, although I don't really like cake, so it was more like the icing on the German beer. Before I left for Europe I also recorded an album with New Zealand Rap/Rockers Fatetwister here in LA with my old buddy Shay Baby, who has returned to producing after 11 years of absence. So much for the immediate past...... Now it is time to play some shows with the (also) Wonderlove and the old flame Deccatree - with Deccatree we are also shooting for a new album release in September. I am also writing songs for the new release of independent artist Dave Donatelli, for SKIN and for my new CD release next year. For the future there is talk of a new SKIN album for the end of the year and a DVD release, also. There definitely will be a British Tour in December and something very huge for next year, but let's not be premature here...... That's my story for the summer and I like it ;0) I hope you are having a good summer also.

Love, Peace, and all the very best to all of you,

Dicki

A crazy springtime for Fliszar in Califone......

It has been a crazy spring so far...... My old band SKIN is reforming after 11 years to share the stage with Classic Rock's Biggest Bands at this year's DOWNLOAD Festival in the UK. Also, I will record a Hip Hop Rock album with my buddy Shay, who stopped producing also 11 years ago and who is returning to his old profession. Incidentally Shay was the producer and engineer of Skin's first album which made the Top 10 in the UK. As a result I am playing drums more than in a long time and it is a lot of fun! If you are a local you can see me in action with yet another reunited band - Wonderlove - in Long Beach on April 24th.

I don't know if I can handle more reunifications......but then again if they are cool as that, keep'em coming ;0)
