RECOMMENDATIONS & TESTIMONIALS

So .... I asked a few of the kind folks who hired myself this past year for various events, to see if they would mind writing a few words regarding their experience with our performances. Well ..... I was absolutely bowled over by their incredibly positive responses. Wow! Amazing! Thank you so much for these kind words! :)

THE FESTIVAL OF FRIENDS 2016 ADAM PIPE - The Festival of Friends, Music Museum Organiser and Curator. " After his awesome performance on the Main Stage, Hometown Hero and local music cornerstone Andy Griffiths stopped by the Museum by for a tour of where his signed guitar will hang amongst our other great alumni (next year). "

THE FESTIVAL OF FRIENDS 2016 BRENT WICE - The Festival of Friends, Main Stage Manager. LOREN LIEBERMAN - The Festival of Friends, Artistic Director and General Manager " Andy brought his versatile self and talented friends to his Festival of Friends appearance in 2016 - his eclectic style and engaging presence won him new fans that night, myself included. Craftily blending acoustic roots with a rock edge, Andy delivered a polished yet "natural" feeling set. You wanted to hang out with him all night. "

ARTFEST ONTARIO 2016 LORY MacDONALD - Artfest Ontario, Artistic Director and General Manager "Andy Griffiths' charm, melodic voice and lovely guitar music won over the visitors at the Artfest Toronto art festival at The Distillery Historic District on Labour Day weekend. His vast repertoire of favourite tunes was impressive. We had great feedback from both the crowd and the exhibiting artists. They commented on not only his performance, but specifically his skill and natural ability of interacting with the crowd. Charming is what they said. Especially with the kids, and he added in some of his fun original children's tunes from his (upcoming) new CD."

THE SOUND OF MUSIC FESTIVAL 2016 RIAN MALLOCH - The Sound Of Music Festival, Programming Manager " Andy Griffiths was one of the best artists that our festival worked with in 2016. From booking, to performance, he was professional, creative, and positive. Sound of Music Festival has always supported local musicians, and we were proud to work with Andy’s folk rock project at our Streetfest segment. The crowds loved him, and he delivered a show that was better than expected.

We also presented Andy’s second project, Kidzent, at our Children’s stage, throughout the entire weekend. What I noticed was a show that was engaging, positive and fun. Andy worked hard to ensure every child there had a unique experience. The songs, the laughs, and the involvement, made for a fantastic experience.

Not only do I recommend Andy for any festival or event, but I won’t hesitate to book him again in the future. If you’re looking for an artist that is easy to work with, and delivers more than you would expect, I highly recommend Andy Griffiths!

CBC SEARCHLIGHT CONTEST

CBC SEARCHLIGHT : Please vote for me here ... http://music.cbc.ca/#!/artists/Andy-Griffiths The track I entered 'LIKE CHRISTMAS WAS YESTERDAY' was started in Nov 2014. It began as a song about missing my family and extended family ( who are spread out across the globe! ) I realised that the reason I was missing them so deeply was that Christmas was fast approaching. I have been trying to write a Christmas themed song for many years to no avail ... at least until this tune emerged. My goal was to get a finished recording sent to my family for Christmas!! The race was on....... This tune will be included on my new album 'STELLA STARTED IT!' to be released in fall of 2015.

FOLK MUSIC ONTARIO CONFERENCE 2014 - OCT 17 & OCT 18

WOW! What a great weekend ! A whole pile of like minded folks take over the Westin Bristol Place and fill it with live music everywhere!!! In the lobby, in the elevators, in the stair wells, the restaurant, the rooms, the meeting rooms .... EVERYWHERE!!! So many pleasant and very talented people sharing music, stories, food and drink! Musical MAYHEM and it was brilliant! I hosted a private showcase room called ROOTS 'n' ROLL and I ran 20 min showcases from 11pm to 3am in my specially designated hotel room. I think there were 25 to 30 showcase rooms. I played some sets, had some friends join in and I invited some performers I did not know into the fray! The talent that passed thru my room was amazing! So great to see their tunes performed live. Videos and cds just don't really cut it for me any more! ;) And ...we are all now good friends. It's hard to describe what it is really like. You have to experience the electricity in the air. 3 days running on about 6 hours sleep or so. But the adrenalin kept pumping! Yes ... I'm tired now .... and paying for it ... but it was well worth it. If I managed to score a gig or 2 out of this conference ... that would be the gravy! I know some of my tunes connected with people. They were kind enough to say so! :) Also, thrilled to be invited to do an interview on BLUES & ROOTS RADIO with Stevie and Anne Connor ( Wee Dan's Hoose! ). They are the salt of the earth! Genuine and fun folks to be around! And I was able to play a tune live on the show. Ya man!! The organisers from FMO and all of the volunteers did a fantastic job of keeping things on track!! KUDOS to everyone involved! Sorry about the verbal diarrhea, but there is so much that went down this weekend. I am totally pumped to get to work on my new album. Most of the songs are pretty much ready and I have some great musicians lined up to help make some NOISE!! ;) Look for STELLA STARTED IT to be released for spring / summer 2015. If you made it this far thru my blog ... thanks so much for reading thru!!! lol :) CHEERS!!!

CBC SEARCHLIGHT COMPETITION

VOTE HERE .... from Mar 24 until April 6.

http://music.cbc.ca/#/artists/Andy-Griffiths

VOTING has begun for the CBC SEARCHLIGHT competition. My song THE FOG HAS LIFTED is a truly Canadian inspired tune about a trip we took to St Johns Newfoundland 2 years ago. I do not normally go for music competitions .... as these ones are based on how much you can bug your friends, fans and family to VOTE! BUT ...... if you want to help me spread the word a little ..... it would be much APPRECIATED.

You can vote 10 times a day and please share if you feel good about it! Strangely enough......if you refresh your browser between votes ....you can actually vote up to 10 times for one artist PER DAY!!!

Thanks for your help and support! :) Cheers! Andy

2013 Comes to a close.........

WOW!!! 2013 has been a very EXCITING year for me!!! Many great shows were played. Including fundraisers to help Haiti, kids in Grimsby, as well as those requiring a helping hand in Hamilton. Many new talented friends were made. I attended and played at the Folk Music Ontario Conference ( formerly OCFF). Which was a blast! And topping it off ....... my new CD was released .... 'MIND ON OTHER THINGS'. This album was nominated for a 2013 HAMILTON MUSIC AWARD! And in such incredible company! :)

Thanks so much to all of the people who have helped fuel my passion for music! My wife and best friend, Helen, has been enormously supportive. As well as my kids! :) My friends and fans are the life blood of a live performance. Thanks for being at the shows and buying my CDs! Your support means a lot to me! And much thanks to the musicians I have been fortunate enough to meet, play gigs with and now call friends. I'm always amazed at the incredibly talented people I have been able to play with over the past few years! All of the BEST in the 2014 folks! :) Cheers, Andy

MIND ON OTHER THINGS

Wow! It's been a crazy couple of months. Lots of musicians coming in and out of my studio, Files sent for mixing by Michael Jack at the Radio Room in Barrie. Awesome mixes came back with very little to tweak! Mastered at Wreckhouse Mastering by Peter Letros. Again very little to tweak. I'm totally excited by this project. A lot of great musicians have lent their time to the recording and it's certainly paid off! Can't wait to start playing CD release gigs and make the tunes available.

I have uploaded a couple of tunes from the new CD 'Mind On Other Things' . Please have a listen to 'Gone Forever' and 'We Sing For Your Love'. Let me know what you think!

First show is at Winterfolk in Toronto at the Delta Chelsea Hotel. Friday, Feb 15, from 7pm to 8pm in Monarch's Pub. Ya babeeeee! Hooha! :-)

We had heckling, singing, jamming.........awesomeness! The vibe was electric! It was a samll venue but gigs like this are what makes it all worth while. Thanks so much to all who came out for the show!!! :-) Today, Sun, we just layed down the beds for 4 new songs in anticipation of the new album .... hopefully to be completed by the fall. Pics and videos from this session to come! Many more interesting gigs on the horizon! Hooha! Please join us on Sat Feb 4 at the Bronte Legion to help raise funds for the Halton Woman's Shelter. They do very good work! See upcoming shows. Cheers! Andy
