Welcome to our Feb 2013 newsleter.

Debut Album

We've been having an exciting time with our debut album 'Invisible'. It's been getting some nice reviews and airplay - including support from SM Radio, Indie Bands Blog, BMans Blues Report, Rockin The Blues From Canada, B's RSM Promo, Notty Nation, Troy's Room, RSL Blog, Rock Regeneration, Museboat Radio, and others. The first video from the album, While I Still Can, won the runners up prize in the London 48 Hr Music Video competition, and has since been broadcast on over 70 TV stations, in the USA, UK, and South Africa. http://youtu.be/3ZM3SQ_FdiI. Thanks to everyone sharing and supporting the video and album.

The album is available on iTunes - https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/invisible/id585185363. Thanks to people reviewing and rating the album on iTunes including the lovely comment - "... truly beautiful and thought-provoking album that is not afraid to explore the highs and lows of human joy and suffering". If you want to support us, putting up your own rating and/or review would be much appreciated.

The disc is also now available as a print on demand disc from Amazon - https://www.createspace.com/2092208

Hats Off Gentlemen It's On TV

I've just found out that our London 48 hour music video for 'While I Still Can' has been broadcast on 74 television stations, including stations in the USA, Canada, South Africa, and the UK. It has also been playing on cruise ships and night clubs in the US. I am extremely grateful to Style-City Music for featuring the video in their widely syndicated show, and to the Cowboy Surfers for making the film (the concept of the band-in-a-box was theirs).

Thanks to everybody supporting, sharing, liking, commenting, etc on the video. It is hugely appreciated. http://www.reverbnation.com/open_graph/video/10698757 www.youtube.com/itsadequate

Best wishes, Malcolm Hats Off Gentlemen, a rock band from London.

(almost) Award winning video

I'd be extremely grateful if you'd have a peek at our first proper rock video (Hats Off Gentlemen It's Adequate - While I Still Can - genre rock with flute from London UK). We got this through taking part in the 48 Hour Music Video project. We were the runners-up in London, but the competition wasn't the important part for us. What was amazing was being randomly paired with a director and having 48 hours to finish a music video, which was then screened at a cinema. We had a wonderful time working with a highly creative and supportive team of film-makers. The film has come at a good time for us - our debut album 'Invisible' will be on iTunes within a few days. The album ranges from hard rock to acoustic. The video is for While I Still Can, the first track on the album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZM3SQ_FdiI&feature=youtu.be

If you'd like to hear a sampler of the rest of the album http://www.reverbnation.com/itsadequate/song/15360674-invisible-extracts-album-sampler If you like the video, any sharing would be hugely appreciated. Hope you are all, Best wishes, Malcolm Hats Off Gentlemen It's Adequate

Cinema and new album

Exciting times for us at the moment - tonight (Wednesdsay 5 December) our first professional music video will be premiered at the Prince Charles Cinema, just of Leicester Square, London, as part of the 48 hour music video competition. I've not seen it yet, but the filming was great fun, and the film-making team incredibly supportive and professional.

As well as a judged prize, there will also be a prize for the audience favourite. If you fancy coming along, it will be at 6 for 6:30, and include 10 new music videos by different bands. Tickets are £10 from the Prince Charles Cinema box office.

Also, our new album 'Invisible' has been sent to the distributor :-) http://www.reverbnation.com/itsadequate/song/15360674-invisible-extracts-album-sampler

As well as being available on iTunes, Amazon download, Spotify etc, it should also be available in a few weeks as a print-on-demand physical CD via Amazon.

Best wishes,

Malcolm Hats Off Gentlemen It's Adequate

New single

http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/me-again-single/id530415496 Our new single "Me Again" is now up on iTunes. It's a much rockier take on type III Ehlers-Danlos syndrome than our first release, and was inspired by the comments of one of my friends 'I just want to wake up one day and be me again'. I had thought that the B-side "Can't Let You Go" was going to be a bonus track, but they seem to be charging separately for it. However, if you are on our mailing list (or would like to join it) at www.reverbnation.com/itsadequate, you can download "Can't Let You Go" for free. If you like the song, any sharing of the link, rating/reviewing on iTunes/Amazon/spotify, requesting on any radio shows etc would be enormously appreciated.

Best wishes, Malcolm

Nambucca

Thanks very much to Symtomatic@Nambucca for the invitation to play this weekend at one of North London's leading venues. This will be our first Saturday night gig at a major venue. If you are free and fancy coming along we'd be delighted. Malcolm on voice and guitar with special guest Rudy Roo (drummer of Fiddler's Elbow house band / Diamond Faith - stc). If you fancy coming, click that you are coming or maybe coming on the facebook page, or email me at hatsoffmail at gmail dot com, and I'll put you on the guest list (letting you get £5 tickets on the door, rather than £8 tickets). I'd also be grateful if you would like to share this event page. Best wishes, Malcolm

Wait For The Storm

I am delighted to be able to let you know that our debut single is now out on iTunes and Amazon. We are donating all royalties from online sales in 2012 to Save The Children and Ehlers-Danlos Support UK (split 50:50). The song is a melancholic acoustic thing. Kathryn has lots of flute in it. I'm singing, playing guitar, bass, keyboard, and did the drum programming and producing. It's a bit depressing (its about my dad's illness, and my own type III Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which causes me a lot of pain and dysfunction), but we are planning on releasing 'While I Still Can', a much more upbeat take on disability, next (either as a single, or as part of an EP). The track is 79p from iTunes

http://itunes.apple.com/gb/artist/hats-off-gentlemen-its-adequate/id509754808 (for UK customers) http://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/hats-off-gentlemen-its-adequate/id509754808 (for US customers) or 89p from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wait-For-The-Storm/dp/B007JG7JKM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331814755&sr=8-1 You can see the video for it at - http://www.reverbnation.com/itsadequate#!/artist/artist_videos/1332439 or on our youtube channel - http://www.youtube.com/itsadequate If you like the song and would like to help us with it, any of these would be very much appreciated - youtube likes/subscriptions, shares of any of the links with friends (FB, twitter, google plus, etc), ratings and reviews at iTunes and Amazon, and requests on any request programmes. If you are a broadcaster and would be interested in playing the song, please do get in touch. Gigs I'm playing a 30 min solo set at the Comedy, near Leicester Square, London, on Tuesday 20 March. If you are interested there are more details in the events section of our facebook page www.fb.com/itsadequate or our reverbnation page www.reverbnation.com/itsadequate. Our next big charity event that we are organising is on Thursday 26 April at the Fiddler's Elbow, London. Hats Off Gentlemen It's Adequate and friends, 2 Tone Red, David Lunas, and other performers TBC. Tickets £5. It was pretty packed last time, so if you want to reserve a ticket, let me know. Hope you are all well, and thanks for all your support, Best wishes, Malcolm
