The album is coming along nicely - it's a pleasure to be working with Alex Wilkinson of www.signalsaudio.com again. Drums are done, bass is laid down, all rythmns are tracked and amped, leads are down and most solos are in, too! Vocals and a few solos to go, then its mixing and mastering and we're done!
We're also happy to announce that Nathan Navetto will be workin on our cover art. Nathan's organic, dark and gritty style suits our music perfectly - you can see examples of his previous work at http://shownd.com/nathannavetto - Nathan's worked with several other local bands such as Train Bigger Monkeys, Truck!, We Found The Body and Burning Effigy, as well as preparing work for mags such as Beatroute. We're looking forward to seeing what he comes up with!

We're heading into the studio next weekend to start on our debut full length album. We're looking for an artist to do some killer artwork to go with it. Not really interested in digital execution - something real would be better suited to our music. We have some concepts in mind. Hammerdrone is booked to go into the studio June and July to record our album. We will be recording again with Alex Wilkinson of Signals Audio, who recorded our "A Demon Rising" EP and who did a killer job of capturing our sound and feel. We are super pumped to be going in again and June cannot come soon enough!

This week, we recorded a quick demo in the Hammerdrone Bunker, deep beneath the frozen soil of Calgary...Vinnie is busy mixing it as we speak. This album should be killer. \m/

We're pleased to announce we have been added to the roster of the Calgary Metalfest 2013. If you haven't heard of it yet, you should of :-)
Spread over 4 days, and featuring both 18+ and all ages shows, there will be something like 80 different bands playing, including such luminaries as Skeletonwitch, Intronaut, Divinity and Into Eternity.

After a great few gigs to start 2013, we'll be in hibernation for March and April, concentrating on finishing the new album. Our single, 'Wraiths On The Horizon', is now recorded and mixing/mastering is underway, so stay tuned for that. Next gig is booked for May 25th, so hope to see some of you folks there!

It's almost the end of 2012. It's been quite the year for Hammerdrone: debut EP recorded and released; debut music video shot and released; farewell to one bass player (Keaton) and welcome to another (Steve); positive press for the EP from the US, UK, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, France, Nepal, Slovenia, etc; breaking into the Top 10 on the Reverbnation chart for Calgary metal artists; plenty of gigs in Calgary and first trip to Edmonton; radio interview on CJSW...phew!
We have high hopes for 2013. We have 8 tracks penned for the new album and aim to be recording in late Spring. We also hope to take our show on the road to our metal neighbours in Saskatchewan and British Columbia, as well as hitting southern Alberta.
Major thanks to all of the bands, promoters, zines and fans for their support in 2012 (you all know who you are)...

Last night we started filming for our first official music video, which is going to be for the title track from our EP. Written and directed by our very own Curtis Beardy, the film plays on the lyrical theme of the darker side of human nature and the inclination to terrible violence. Filming continues today and then it's the slow process of editing....

Studio time is booked!
Hammerdrone is booked to go into the studio June and July to record our album. Filming has begun for "A Demon Rising"!

Filming completed on Saturday as planned! Now we just need to edit it...which could take a while - we have hours of footage to narrow down to 4 mins :-)
