BAND: OPPROBRIUM TITLE: THE FALLEN ENTITIES COUNTRY: U.S.A STYLE: DEATH / THRASH LABEL: HIGH ROLLER FORMAT / YEAR: 2019-CD SCORE: 5/4.
Incubus was a band that recorded two separate albums in the late eighties and nineties and were somehow classics of the time namely "Serpent Temptation" and "Beyond the Unknown" respectively. In 1999 they changed their name to become Opprobrium, they have five albums behind them, with a legendary band status, the brothers Moyses M. Howard (drums) and Francis M. Howard (guitar, vocals) meet to configure " The Fallen Entities ", a concept that deals with subjects such as Fallen Angels and the Flood of Noah, and how there were giant beings in those days also after the flood, as well as the subject of UFOs and flying vehicles and subjects of ufology. The book of Ezekiel, is also present here, this gives it a Christian character, simply because of subjects that deal with the scriptures of the Bible from the perspective obviously of these musicians. They were from Incubus and are also now with Opprobrium, for a long time they have been cultivating a Death / Thrash classic with a lot of emphasis on sound and riffs as it should be and, as the law of metal rules, the result of the sound is really very well, they are handled in a great way.
The different scenarios that are presented on each track with a freedom that only experience and years in metal can provide, are reflected in the eight tracks, with clear definitions of the concept that want to convey a true range of opportunities for entry and exit of Good guitars, the compositions in the Death / Thrash plan, is where its greatest virtue is and in songs like "Dark Days, Dark Times", "Wicked Mysterious Events" or "Throughout The Centuries", you can notice the whole essence of Opprobrium at its best, they maintain a synchronicity in the production that makes "The Fallen Entities" a very remarkable sound for old fans, devotees of traditional extreme metal.
