Great Gig!

I am sorry I did not promote the Black History Month show at Church of the Incarnation last week. I supported an amazing cast of performers and had a great time doing it. I was honored to accompany Cecilia Smith featured vibraphonist as we swung hard on Miles' All Blues and rocked Ramsey Lewis' arrangement of Pass Me Not.

Barry Patz on piano and Mark Peterson on bass helped create a tight rythem section which backed up the talent of Nigel Sangster singing Go Down Moses, Carol Harrison-Arnold, Eden Rahming, and Shari Gill's rendition of Strange Fruit, and Kendall Bass on I Want Jesus to Walk with Me. Linda Childs sang This Little Light of Mine and Sharmane Davis sang I Don't Feel No Ways Tired. What's Going On with Timothy Jones worked well as we were joined by Keith McMurry on saxophone. Keith then took the lead on a spirited I'm Black and I'm Proud. Richard Smallwoods Anthem of Praise cranked up the volume and set the stage for some meaningful poetry by Kevon Simpson. An inspiring collection of artists created an outstanding show. Be forewarned, we are working on a Jazz service for Easter and you will not want to miss it.

Love and Strength,

Roland

2013 a New Chapter

Thanks for your support and good vibes. I have been teamed up with Dujuana Sharese lately bringing live beats to her spoken word show. Great jams with Glenn Coleman and Adam Marr might be found on her site so check her out. In the middle of some new tunes at Moon Studios with Engineer/Producer Henry Falco. I will let you know when we get 'em all polished and pretty, cheers!
