OK, so we are not doing a very good job of keeping up the blog! Well, we send you emails and updates when (and where) we are playing, so we don't need to rehash that. In early June, Kara and Marcus attended Pueblo Bluegrass on the River. If you haven't been there, it is held at the Pueblo Greenway and Nature center. The main stage backs up on the Arkansas river, so you can watch the performers and the river at the same time! This is one of the best picker's festivals we have ever been to! A lot of the bands camp out and play most of the night, then get up on stage the next day. Fireweed is the host band, and they always put together a good show. Put it on your calendar for 2012, always the weekend after Memorial day!
Howdy, folks! I decided that it was time to start an Alternate Route blog as a place to say things that don't belong anywhere else. Here are the blog rules: 1. Be kind 2. No politics (see #1) 3. No rants (see #1) 4. Talk about music (see #1) 5. See #1
OK, so I am not so good at the blog thing yet, but I promise I will get better!
There is a lot of music on the horizon for Alternate Route. The summer is filling up with shows, and we are scrambling to make sure we leave time for camping trips, hiking trips, biking trips, family trips, etc. And since 1/2 of the band (Kara and Marcus) are getting ready to be grandparents this summer, we need to add some baby time, as well.
We are also planning to get some video and audio recordings going soon and get them posted.
Well, we have a big show tonight at Cobble Creek, so I better make sure I am ready to go.
See you down the Alternate Route!
