Doc Holladay and Tombstone / Blog

Mindy McCready

Really heartbroken to hear about Mindy McCready. So tragic and unnecessary, but it's one of only 3 possible outcomes when it comes to addiction: get sober, go to an institution of some kind (i.e. jail, or if you're lucky a recovery center), or death. I've been to the edge myself and am here to tell you that it does NOT have to end this way. There is help available and there are options. No matter what kind of pain or circumstances you are in, it's possible to turn it all around by getting completely honest, asking for help and then surrendering control of your life to a higher power. Suicide results when your pain, shame, and fear overwhelm your ability to cope with it. Drugs, alcohol etc work for a while, but when they stop working, then what? I only feel compassion for Mindy and others suffering from this disease, and hope that by sharing some of my experience that it might cause someone out there to realize that there is always hope and there is a solution.

Hey everyone! I'm thrilled to let you know that the CD is now available for purchase for $10.99 + 1.99 shipping and handling. There are 13 tracks and it represents a LOT of time, energy, and all the heart I could put into it. Many of the tracks were writtin with some amazing co-writers, an there are some special guests on there as well, such as my good friend Troy Lucketta (Tesla) on drums, as well as Dave Rude (Tesla) on some guitars and backing vocals on a track. My good friends Kyle Wood and Karen Staley add some great backing vocals on some tracks too, and I hope you enjoy listening to it and much as I enjoyed making it. To order, you can click the paypal link below, or send the total for the CD and shipping ($12..98) to docholladay7@hotmail.com at PayPal. Be sure to include your shipping address so we'll know where to ship it, and also any information or requests for a signed copy and to whom etc. Thanks so much for your patience and again, I hope you enjoy it! What's up ya'll. Reverbnation keeps asking me to blog, so why not. From time to time, I'll share some thoughts and thinly veiled insanity and see where it goes. Peace out- Doc
