Had a great night launching the new album 'Sha La La La Push Push' at the Green Dragon last night, mega thanks to Johnny Steinberg for helping me out of a predicament and keeping the show on the road, plus it was a real buzz to share the stage with me ol mucker Foilboy Wayne Hammond for a hoe down version of 'Babyface'!
Plus we raised over £130 already in CD sales with all the dosh going to The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust, thanks to everyone who came, played, bought n' listened..:)
My new album 13 track album ‘Sha La La La Push Push’ will be out on August 3rd.
I’ve really enjoyed working on this album with my regular contributors Jazzy, Beth & Dorothea over the last year, they have all done fantastic work for me.
I’m really proud of this album, and I’m looking forward to getting it out there, but this time I’m doing things a little different.....
This time, I have decided that all proceeds from sales of this album will go to charity. (That’s a real charity- not me!).
The charity I want to support is The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust. Here’s the Webby for them.....
All charities are worth supporting of course, but the reason I picked this one is because Isobel, the daughter of an old friend & band mate of mine developed Retinoblastoma (eye cancer).
Sadly, Isobel lost an eye due to this, but she is a very plucky young lady and is doing well. Obviously this has been a terrible worry for her parents, particularly as she is very young. So I want to raise some money for the charity concerned with Retinoblastoma – Kind of like a musical sponsored walk!
What I intend to do is this.....The album will be released as a download & as a limited edition CD, You can pay any price you like for the Download from a £1.00 upwards, Yep, that’s right - whatever you can afford, can be a quid, a fiver, or if you think I’m worth it, more!:)
For the limited edition CD I will be setting a price of £3.00 as a starting point, again if you can afford a little more, that would be great!
Whatever you can afford will be very generous – Thank YOU!
I do hope you will be able to support me in this, everyone’s a winner really, we raise some money for charity, you get a great album and the knowledge you are supporting a very worthy cause, and I get my music out there where I want it to be!
The album features the three recent gcw singles, “Is it a Dream?”, “Oxygen To The Brain” & the current single “ A Moment In The Sun” – these can all be downloaded for FREE from bandcamp, where the Album can be also be pre-ordered, here’s the link to the music….
Thanks for listening n’ giving a damn.
Really amazed at all the plays 'Is It A Dream?' has garnered over the last couple of weeks - Thank you!
I will be releasing another single shortly called 'Oxygen To The Brain'.....
..Mixing the last two tracks for the new album 'Sha La La La Push Push'...Should be out in the spring, it has a slightly sunnier disposition this album so a spring date seems appropriate... here's the tracklist folks...
A Moment In The Sun Something Like I Feel New Ways To Cry Oxygen To The Brain The Ghost In The Mirror Is it A Dream? Strippin' In The Graveyard Passionate Wings 'Til There Was You My Love Is Only Sleeping Y.O.Y. Crazy Moon
Cheers! gcw x
