Playing music for thousands at the Boise Saturday Market, and people watching....that was my day. I LOVE when children dance to my music...it makes me smile :) At the same time, it makes me wonder why us adults rarely up and dance spontaneously. We need to! Let's do it, friends! OK, you first... haha!
Today was a good day...and perhaps I'm happier than I should be. They say happiness needs to come from within and not based on outward things. Why do "they" say that? Sometimes you just need new things, and you just need things to go right on the outside...right? Well, today, the sun moon and stars were aligned just perfectly, and I am about to tell you why. Just read a few more meaningless words first. I am one to use the crap out of my music equipment before justifying a replacement. And I am one that does not spend a ton of money...which perhaps is why I am so damn happy about what I am about to tell you! Get to the point? OK, I just got a BRAND NEW MIC STAND!!! Like I said...It's the little things. That's all. Go on with what you were doing.
I was born and raised in S. Florida, and the beach seems to call my name real loud about every 6 months until I give in. I'm hopping a plane tomorrow to get some sand between my toes, play a couple shows, a radio show and perhaps an Easter egg hunt ;)
Just had a wonderful evening at a show in Boise. The best of the best local talent performed. I don't about you, but hearing LIVE music inspires me so much. It doesn't even have to be the style I'm into. I think I shall write a song tonight...now to find a quiet moment alone to hunker down and write...always a challenge.
Ever have too much going on inside your head to put something with any sense of clarity down on paper? Yes, well....I have about 7 themes, and a bunch of unrelated lyrics to figure out what I want to hone in on. So, it's not writer's block, because that's when you have nothing, right? Well, I have so much it's overwhelming. Also, it seems I am never alone in the house, and that makes it hard to be creative. I suppose there are worse things in life.....
I am someone who has a driving force inside me to create. The world is right when I do. Whether it is a song,, poetry, visual art, photography, or a random meal. Yes...random....I don't cook very much, but when I do, you can bet I don't follow a recipe.
I had an incredible time shooting my first music video in Miami, FL with Travis Cossel www.beyondordinary.net I am bursting at the seams to tell you all about it, but I am keeping it a secret. It should be released before Christmas!
