For anyone who may read this. Life is good. Work as a carpenter by day, musician by night, bills are getting paid, food on the table, roof over my head, surrounded by family and friends everyday, good health, and good times. I am not monetarily rich, but wealthy in happiness, love, friendships, and peace of mind.
and I have yet to play out on it or sell the first cd. Thanks to social networking sites and Clear Channel Radio, I have been receiving regular spins and gaining some attention with my tunes which is sweet. It is much easier for "artists" , especially independent ones to get their music and message out there thanks to technology. Thankfully, I do not have to travel great distances or make useless phone calls as my musical predecessors, just to get people to listen. Now a days, it is just the click of the mouse away. Just to think someone of the magnitude of Mr. Johnny Cash, had to knock on Sam Phillips door a few times just to get in only for Mr. Phillips to tell him he couldn't sell what he was doing at the time which was gospel but the rest is musical history. Glad Mr. Cash came back with something else. Anyway, I am looking forward to this year and excited with what it may bring musically. Making music with my brothers, Reverend John and the Backsliders, and looking forward to going to new places and making new friends by way of my ol trusty Takamine which I have been beating on for sixteen plus years. It may not be the typical American Dream but it is mine and I hope I never wake up. Smiles, Peace , and good health and times Jonathan
