The popular all-girl group, ANYTHING BUT MONDAY, has added to its performance rider a provision that effectively requires that no alcoholic beverages distributed by the Ernest & Julio Gallo company will be permitted to be sold at any of its concerts or events.
The girls cited that they have found this powerful wine distributor to be hostile toward the entrepreneurial spirit of young and aspiring musical artists, and that they themselves have been personally effected.
During the most recent performances, the arenas hosting the group have all graciously cooperated with the girls wishes. The group is now hopeful that other artists with similar dreams and aspirations might ultimately join them.
In an official statement, the group offered that they have found Ernest & Julio Gallo to be "dream-crushers" in an environment where young and aspiring artists - and especially female artists - are all struggling to make their dreams come true.
"By no means will we be stopped by this aggressive company of course, but it sure was a slap in the face to have crossed paths with them. We'll gladly keep our distance in the future... and in the meantime, it's the least we can do to avoid their products, especially at our own concerts and events."
