Despite being top "5" for over a year, I have yet to be thrown a bone. Its a f&?king joke. Unless you emulate someone else you are likely to get passed up. Originality is dead!
The support I have received through RN has been overwhelming. I am humbled by the comments, emails, and fans that have taken the time to view my page. My intent on starting this was primarily to express myself musically and to be able to share what I have written with others. I never expected my profile to climb into single digits on the charts since I have no actual "band" and have not played a gig in over 15yrs. I write and compose what feels appropriate in my heart and not for financial or social gain. Throughout this part-time endeavor I have gone through different stages of life, "birth of kids, jobs, etc", all of which have helped me grow and mature as a father, husband, and musician. Life is a fascinating journey and there will always be ups and downs however the universal aspect in this is that despite what is going on there is always something of value to be learned.
1). Listen, don't just wait for your turn to speak. 2). Failure is only when you give up, otherwise its persistence, and persistence usually pays off. 3). In terms of music, rushing things is usually the foundation of regret. 4). Don't be embarrassed, your bravery can help others to express themselves. 5). If you think you know it all already, you will fall hard. Try to be open-minded, its difficult at times but enlightening nonetheless. 6). Grow! Do not ever stop learning...ever!
Well its April 21st and so far so good. I have always been interested in experimenting in different genres but with a metal twist. Currently I am exploring latin and gypsy styles due to the fact that each style represents a beautiful and unique history. I find myself constantly going through daily life with new beats and melodies streaming in my mind. Ive often wondered if its the ADHD, or the obsession of creativity to my deepest love...music!
