My December schedule is ever-changing. Take a look on my calendar for updates as to where I'm playing.
Thanks to Jonathan and Renee for this new video. I'm playing the Sprite, a tune that I wrote some time ago.
I just shot a video of The Sprite at Turntable in Jamestown. It will be edited and posted within the next few weeks.
I just posted a video of myself playing at the Creative Center in Greensboro, during one of the Showcases. In it, I play three original compositions: The Sprite, For the Gulf, and Alice's Mayflower Mansion.
Playing music at the Restorative Yoga Session at Pure Light Yoga in High Point last Sunday went amazingly well! I've been invited to play next door at DeBeen Coffee on Friday the 13th, starting at 7:30 p.m. I'll chase away the bad luck with Banish Misfortune, and some selections from my CD. Come on out!
I made my CD, "On Dulcimer Wings," for massage therapy sessions, yoga sessions, etc. On Sunday the 8th of September, I get to play the music on the CD for a live restorative yoga session! I am excited, as I have always wanted to do this.
I've updated the schedule. Please check out my calendar to see the changes. Dropped one gig; added another. More will be added for September. Please also let me know if there is a place near you where I could play for you. Larry.
There seems to be a difference between a Reverb Nation status update and a Reverb Nation blog. Well, I've neglected this blog and have been writing status updates. I hope y'all see this. Tonight (Friday, Aug. 9th, 2013) was a good night at Deep Roots Market Cafe' in Greensboro. Old friends came out as well as people I never met. I sold 5 CDs, which I desperately needed to do, and it was a fun time. I played until the Market closed at 9, 30 minutes more than I was supposed to, but so what. I may have a new hammered dulcimer student out of this, and played for a man whose wedding I played about 20 years ago. I played the same piece too, Pachelbel's Canon. Thanks to all who came out. I feel good again.
So here's where and when I'm playing in Greensboro: May 31st, Friday, Caribou Coffee, 7 p.m. June 7th, Friday, Deep Roots Market, 7 p.m. June 15th, Saturday, Beansboro Coffee, 7 p.m. June 22nd, Saturday, Butterfly Garden, Summer Solstice, Lindley Park, 3 to 3:30 p.m. More to come? Stay logged on and find out!
Sydney and I presented a unique meditative experience at the Creative Center in Greensboro Saturday night. With tea candles lit in a semi-circle on the floor, and myself on a platform, Sydney interpreted my music in dance to the surrounding audience seated in the center section of the art gallery. Her engaging performance allowed me to play the entire album - all 60 minutes worth - of music. It is an experience that will not be repeated again, especially since Sydney is moving to the Dallas-Fort Worth area! I put a lot of effort and not too little money into bringing about this CD release event. I learned hard lessons of what is worth my effort and what is not. Still, we provided our audience with an experience they will not forget, as well as a copy of On Dulcimer Wings. And they will tell their friends, and I will get more engagements from it. Thanks to those of you who made it out.
