Recording & gigging: what a musician should be doing...

Its Friday, and for some of you that means weekend. For me it means recording!! Tonight I'll be working hard in the studio laying down songs for my upcoming EP. The idea for this project is to offer something to people that captures what they can expect at my shows. Me, my guitar and boatloads of energy!! We're looking at a 6-song EP, all acoustic, simple yet satisfying. Tracklisting and artwork will come in following weeks and I'm hoping to have it available to you by April. I'll make sure to have it available on iTunes, Amazon, whatever your favorite digital music store is, as well as on CD. Details to come soon. Last Thursday (2/2/2012)'s show at Murphy's Irish Pub was THE BEST show I've played there and a great start to the New Year!! A big whooping thank you to all who attended, the most supportive, attentive and easy on the eyes audience I've had to date. Let this be a notice to the rest of you that the bar has been set... ;-) Speaking of shows, here's what's on deck for me: WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22nd - The Tradewinds Bar - Cotati, CA - 9PM - FREE -opening for The Timothy O'Neil Band. http://www.tradewindsbar.com/ http://www.timothyoneilband.com/ SATURDAY, MARCH 3rd - Kathmandu Corner (Taste of Himalaya) - Sonoma, CA - 8PM - FREE -Playing in the lovely back room of Taste of Himalaya. I'll be singin' and Steve will be slingin' the drinks. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kathmandu-Corner/118794254893236 FRIDAY, MARCH 9th - Hopmonk Tavern - Sonoma, CA - 9PM - FREE -Mmmm, beer!!! Actually, their food is pretty awesome too! http://www.hopmonk.com/sonoma/ Plenty more shows to come, but these should suffice for y'all for now. That's all from Camp TG. Love to all of you for your support!! Keep on Folkin' in the free world! xo TG

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th @ 1PM Hopmonk Tavern - Sonoma 691 Broadway, Sonoma, CA. (707) 935-9100 -Daytime gig! Out in the beer garden, come see me play while you enjoy a burger or some samosas or a pulled pork sandwich and one of the many excellent beers Hopmonk has on tap! The weather calls for a mostly sunny day in the low 80's and a chance of heavy folk! The artwork for the show was created by my brother, Patrick Sean Gibson. Check out his site ChocolateCoveredBrainCells which has images of the four different posters he made plus tons of his other works!!

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th @7PM Murphy's Irish Pub 464 First Street East, Sonoma, CA. (707) 935-0660 -Sonoma's Tuesday Night Market has been going strong now that its prime picnic weather and the best way to finish off a lovely afternoon at Sonoma Plaza at the Farmer's Market is to head over to Murphy's and grab some BBQ'd oysters and listen to some live music!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24th @9PM (with Dawn Angelosante) Shiso Sushi & Grill 19161 Highway 12, Sonoma, CA. (707) 933-9331 -Amazing sushi! Saturday night, the lovely Dawn Angelosante and I will be performing on Shiso's back patio. Its going to be the ideal date-night/night out with some of the best sushi I've ever had and sharing the stage with one of the best musicians I've ever known.

Anything else? Well pre-production for recording is underway and hopefully will take off shortly. Recording may mean less time for gigs but I promise to make that up to you when the record's done.

Good luck back to school, back to work and back to the grind but if you can make time for me and my shows, I'll be ever so grateful.
