Jason Damico-An Amalgamation

Jason Damico - An Amalgamation Immersed in playing his Blues, Jason Damico didn't notice the crowd at the Triangle Blues Challenge on July 26 when he won the Solo/Duo category. From tapping toes and swaying bodies, the wave of spectators moved with the music spilling from his Taylor 314 acoustic guitar. Damico just concentrated on demonstrating his philosophy: "Keep emotionally moving music alive and well." Damico is only 20 years old, but he's been capturing audiences for almost a decade. Starting formal piano lessons at the age of 3, he added drums a year later and then self-taught himself guitar before turning 10. At 13, Damico was already performing professionally. He continues to evolve as a musician, seeing himself as "an amalgamation of a bunch of music styles in an artist who loves the Blues. "Blood, Sweat & Blues," Damico's new CD, demonstrates his talents as a guitarist, singer and song writer. Rock Harbor Grill in Apex (121 N Salem St) hosts the album's release party on Sept. 27. Join the fun and filming that night, as iTunes readies its release of Damico's original, "Hold Me a Little Closer," as a single. You'll also be moving Jason a little farther on his travels to on the "Road to Memphis" for the International Blues Competition in January 2015.
