April 2011

Spring keeps teasing Wisconsin. Had some stellar shows the 1st & 2nd at the Port O'Call in Kewaunee. Always a fun place to be. I played solo on Friday night, and played with the talents of drummer Dan Budziszewski and bassist Peyton Lencho. It was good to get the trio rockin'. I played solo on the 7th at the new Fetaz in Green Bay, where I met some very hospitable staff and found a great place to have dinner and a show. The Yardarm in Racine got rocked on the 9th by percussionist Jim Wirt and me, another great place to have dinner and a show, they have thankfully welcomed me with for the past several years. Just finished a show at Boscos in Waukesha on the 16th with drummer Tim Reck, and had a blast as usual. Boscos is quickly becoming a staple of downtown Waukesha. Next week I play Fire on Water with Tim Reck on drums on Friday the 22nd. Fire is one of the best Milwaukee music venues, because of the dedication to their love of music and creating a venue to nourish Milwaukee's growing talent. On Saturday the 23rd I grace the stage of one of the best music venues in Appleton, Deja Vu, such a ambient sophisticated 1920's atmosphere complete with a full scale Capone statue and the finest martini's. Then I head to Prairie Du Chien on the 30th to play the Main Entrance, a real Wisconsin gem of a music venue. It is rare to find such fervor for live music as can be found at the Main Entrance. I am truly blessed this April to grace these stages. Wishing a Happy Easter to those it applies to and a beautiful spring to the remainder. Come to a show, let’s make some new memories, forget the bad ones and share the good ones. Salute. -Mathew Haeffel
