The B-day Party - more than just music.....

Cris and Lou performed a private event to celebrate the birthdays of two special children. It was a wonderfully organized party where the children participated in several events including our show. We had a great time playing for them. We proceeded to ask the mother who organized the party as to how she selected us as the entertainers and she proceeded to say that she was referred to us along with several other children song artists. After doing quite a bit of research, she mentioned that not only was our music appealing, but she was most moved by what the "Cris and Lou Project" represents. We were honored to hear such feedback since we believe our project is more than just the music. We hope you can take the time to check it out at our website and feel free to contact us at www.crisandlou.com xoxo C&L :)

A day off to do more.....

It was beautiful sunny day this past Thursday and both Cris and I had the day off (we were both back fresh from our own European vacations). I continued to finish off my week at Ocean City NJ ....that day, we also had a scheduled date to volunteer our time for the Childrens Hospital program through Musicians on Call...although tempted, neither one of us had the audacity to reschedule this date no matter how gorgeous of a day we were having. All we could think of were the wonderful children that could not enjoy this particular day outside let alone see the sunshine. We decided to take the sunshine into the hospital and play for them instead. All I can say is that there is so much love and joy to spread to others and hope that everyone else can do the same for others less fortunate. We don't call it a sacrifice, but a blessing to have the opportunity to add a smile to faces of the children at the hospital. :)

MamaPalooza

Cris and Lou had a great time today performing at the Collingswood, NJ Mayfair festival for Sarah O'Brien's MamaPalooza Event. MamaPalooza is dedicated to serving, promoting, celebrating, encouraging, inspiring, and awakening ALL mothers (like Cris) through Media, Commerce, Connection, and Performing Fine Arts....We truly appreciate working with Sarah and look forward to more wonderful events that she represents...Kudos to Sarah!! :)

Cris and Lou Article posted on www.dad.ie

This was the latest blog posted on our website (www.crisandlou.com) and on a Dad's webpage (www.dad.ie: As a Father of two boys (14 and 10), I know that Parents go through a lot in life with family obligations including daily responsibilities such as our work, children activities, etc…..Aside from my family and full time job, I am also an active musician that volunteers for a wonderful program called “Musicians on Call”. This program allows my partner (Cris) and I to therapeutically entertain children within the area hospitals in and around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (U.S.). With the help of a hospital guide, who also volunteers for “MOC”, Cris and I go from room to room playing a song or two for bedside children including anyone else in their room (Parents, Nurses, etc..). We do this not only because it is part of our Social Mission within the “Cris and Lou Children’s Project” (www.crisandlou.com), but as Parents, we love children in general and feel very special to have the opportunity to touch their spirits with the power of music. We are also grateful to have the opportunity to reach out to children that cannot voluntarily attend our shows. So instead, we will bring our show to them, room by room, song by song, smile by smile. We also love the opportunity to entertain the parents/family/friends that are in their room as well. Most of us cannot compare our daily troubles to the stress that those folks are going through to support their children that are hospitalized. So when I return home, I love to hug my boys and savor the smiles that they bring to me with the hopes of relaying that joy back to the children at our next event with MOC. Although Cris and I are emotionally overwhelmed within our visits, we both carry a common goal to ensure that each little soul enjoys a small dose of our musical communiqué with our happy songs. As a Father, I find that being emotionally close to my sons personally important. Even with the preoccupation of my job, and other daily activities, including music, I do my best to offer them exclusive attention whenever possible. Most importantly, I hope to be influential in having them one day be able to spread their goodness and joy to others in need of assistance in whatever form necessary, even if they yearn to be future members for “Musicians on Call”. :) Lou “Do not speak of your happiness to one less fortunate than yourself.” Plutarch
