Trip to Motherland - Hungary

...and there was a time when Tamas needed another trip... this time with remembering...at least some :). Started early December and lasted for 2 months, got back 3 weeks ago…WHAT'S UP!

Couldn't have better start than meeting my twin finally. It's been over 3 years but all the waiting ended right in Vienna. Gabor was flying in from Melbourne. It took him 24 hours no wonder he smelled a kangaroo, lol. He's still in the showbiz, incredible acrobat….Bounded again, holidays, parties…gotta visit him in Australia…Verismo will get there soon too!

Short drive back to my hometown, Szombathely (Saturday place is the exact meaning of the town) with reunited gang. Hungary went thru some changes (no shit; bad economy ran by ridiculous government) yet the BEER IS STILL CHEAP...Drinks on me guys!

So drinks are covered but I gotta mention the food, man! Let me tell you, I was fed from left and right, eat more than one can do. Those european dishes dude...gulyas, chicken paprikas, soups...too much to cover. Quite filling and HEAVY, though before I exploded had to rinse it off with some good 'ol moonshine then all was just fine. Of course it was home-made...relieve and enjoy the after effect :)! Tamas was well treated for 2 months LOL.

All right, you know holidays passed, some help at my older brother's new house, dad's co...bla-bla-bla, when the time came for "Verismo introduction to Hungary". Dug up my old, new contacts, did some research and I was ready to ROLL.

First destination was Budapest...again what an awesome place, just some pure history in front of your eyes. Ya'll have to come one day. Visited most radio stations with rock programs, met some ppl, gave interviews. The reception was GREAT, they really liked the music and the story behind it. Appreciation was kicking; some programs put us in their special program airing full interview with few songs playing. Stopped by some magazines, webzines and promoters where met some cool dudes who'll help setting up shows there and put us on this brilliant festival, SZIGET.

It's located on the island what divides the Danube river in Budapest…NICE!

If you thought you had attended to all the outdoor events you might be wrong, this is a really bad ass one. 5+1 days of music, over 10 stages and the best shows from all over. Camping, food, booze, party all day, every day. The main act will be Iron Maiden this year along with other kick ass bands, hopefully with Verismo ;). The festival covers not only rock but blues, jazz, electronic…all. If you wanna learn more, check this link: http://www.sziget.hu/festival_english

So yeah, I had an awesome time in Hungary…can't wait to go back…and soon to be a tour for VERISMO for the hungry Hungarians and from there the rest of EUROPE.catch you guys later!
