Frankie D'Augusta 28 minutes ago Ok Reverbnation as some of us know Is a fantastic platform for basically amateur's and a hand full of pro's to showcase their music, videos and blogs to fans and other musicians. They set It up really well with stats and different programs you can participate In usually for a fee,And charts In different genres so an artist can really pinpoint their demographic's and go after It.That being said I get a lot of the "quid pro quo" thing like,I just fanned you,So can you please do the same,Heres all my links In private messages.Of course Im never ever going to say anything that will try and crush your dream and Its going to be pleasant,TRUE!!Not all the time.First off anything I say Is just an opinion,But with that opinion comes 30 yrs of a back round of living and breathing music,Which I have been very lucky through being In the right place at the right time and people willing to help and tell me the truth about a song or situation.Im just another artist here on the site,But I have less of an agenda then some others.Im not looking to play live nor am I looking to be at a chart position to sell my music,Thats secondary at this point In my life and I have been there and done that,If any goal were to be achieved It would be placement In a commercial,Soundtrack or Internet content for youtube shorts etc.So If you guys really want to use me-lol,Hit me In a message at Frankieldorado@yahoo.com or RN or FB and say,Hey man I read some of your blog,Whatever?? Can your really give me your opinion On what Im doing?? And I will gladly do that,And say things that pinpoint what your concerns are about like,What do you think of the ch's or middle section,Hows the vocal sound to you?? I would be glad to do any of that If you ask,And I dont need nor want you to be a fan because you did the same for me,The Quid Pro Quo!!! shuffle!!!!
Can anyone ever say how they really feel without having to post there best pics,Destinations,Plans,And what Its really like at all???I did not think so.Theres one or two people I know who show you the good and the bad and get some really great feedback. Most though,Including myself give you the highlights of a false bottom,Showing that your just as good If not better than everyone else,In your chosen topic for the day, month or year.I would love to see a place where you can share and show and express whats really going on In your life. And not have to worry about your employer or clients thinking your out of your mind,This Is not about me of course,I just like to read about other people's misery and sorrow so I don't feel so bad when my dry cleaning comes out wrong!!!!
Hey I have a great Idea,Lets take that pizza delivery guy and turn him Into an International super star,Within a few months.I know that everyone comes from somewhere and some have musical backround's.But some don't,And you can see the results after their 15 min of fame are over. The first few years of the show gave us Kelly Clarkson and the few other's that became worthy viable artist's In their own right. These last few years seems like they win and there gone.No hit record,Nothing.I believe they get to do the Idol tour and of course a record,It seems like they are flash In the pan. This manufactured type of artist has had Its heyday.Unless from that point on they start paying their dues and do the work required to continue this venture. This "Rock Star" In a can concept has worn out.Its bad enough everyone and their mother can make a record now.Years ago there was a tried and true way of recording a record going out to support the record along with the budgets and Infrastructure In place:ie Record company,Management and so forth. The thing was designed to build Into a long term situation for the artist and the labels.I kind of feel sorry for artists and bands today who dont get proper budgets or publishing advances. It was In the 6 figures back In my day.But my point Is "American Idol" concept Is dead In my opinion. And nothing replaces hard work and the magic that happens when the right group of people come together and create their magic.

Im not a preacher,And Im not telling anybody what to do.That being said Theres an opportunity here to make a statement about conditions and to also get the right exposure for your band,Music, productions. No bookings ,No action,Make your own action,Donate your talent and raise some $$ For your fav charity or cause. You make a place for yourself,Give and you will be given to.Really think out the event and what your going to do and try and create something musically thats connected to whats happening In peoples lives.Maybe dont show up with a generator when the people have no power yet.Play an un-plugged set,Give away stuff and make the community feel part of It In all ways and step outside yourself and your problems.Im not saying you don't do It.But If you choose to,There Is a great need right on the east coast.Put your art out there,For arts sake.Dont ask what am I going to get out of It,What are they going to get out of It.And dont buy Into this consumer crazed nation of Instant gratification.Good In=Good Out.Just do It.I just volunteered my time for "Sandy" relief work and It was the best holiday of my life.11-26-2012 Frankie Eldorado
I write things on the blog space cause I wanna say,Hey I was here!!!Still here In fact,Which brings me to the point of this little story. It's about loosing faith In your own belief's and being a people pleaser and doing thing's so you can shut up and please others.2007 when my adventure began,Innocent enough I said Im going to re-Invent myself and venture Into something different. After all I was In my 50's and I thought my music days were far behind me.That being said I got a job on Wall Street as a stock trader,Very far from the melodic life I have lead and plugged Into what the so called "Normal"people do for a living.Going to church before work In the morning I was praying for a sale.Asking "God" to help me achieve the American Dream.Fast forward a bit,I became the #2 sales person at this firm selling so called Bio Fuel stocks. In my heart I thought this was cool and green and something that was going to help America be fuel Independent. The office was at 23 exchange place.A very hi profile address with a view and all the bells and whistle's one would expect at a firm on Wall st.Money was rolling In,10k a week was chump change down there and thats my bad week. One day I step out for some coffee and when I return Im greeted by a female police officer and asked for I.D.I complied and was escorted to my desk,Where I saw another 20 or so police and other agency's going through and confiscating office papers and equipment. It turned out that the whole operation was a sham.Totally fake,This Is before "Bernie Maddoff" I was working next to an F.B.I agent for a few months before the firm got raided. My deal turned out to be like a drug sting,I sold fake stock to the F.B.I.Fast forward a bit.I got arrested a month later and Indicted for fraud and bad biz practices,I was facing 4 yr's.The point of this whole story is to believe In your art.And believe In your vision and never do anything to please someone else,It never works. And remember you leave your passion It leaves you,So don't do It.Believe In your ability's and keep playing your song.Im not saying don't take chances,If something Is not working out.Im saying "Never do It to please others.I never had a felony before and they treated me like I killed someone.13 days In jail and 5 years probation taught me a valuable lesson Indeed.Keep your eye on the prize.A true story.Frankie Eldorado 9-23-12
SOMETIMES WHEN YOUR MIXING OR MAKING A RECORD YOU ASK YOURSELF WHAT IS THIS MIX MISSING?? IT COULD BE THE EFFECT OF"GRATITUDE"IN THIS MY,MY ME,ME MY WORLD. GRATITUDE THAT YOU CAN TAKE AN IDEA BORN IN YOUR HEAD AND MAKE IT REAL AND YOUR NOT BORN OR LIVING IN SOME THRID WORLD COUNTRY WHERE YOUR CHANCES FOR EVEN A RECORDING IS REMOTE AND FEW AND FAR BETWEEN.GRATITUDE IS SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT COME IN A BOX WITH LIGHTS THAT YOU CAN PLUG IN.ITS A OVER ALL ATTITUDE THAT IN MY OPINION ADDS SO MUCH TO YOUR PROJECT,AND DOES NOT COST ANYTHING TO RENT OR BUY.THATS THE EFFECT THAT WORKS ALL THE TIME AND GOES A REALLY LONG WAY IN THE MAKING AND PRODUCTION OF YOUR RECORDING,THIS MAY SOUND OFF THE WALL,BUT IN MY 30 SOME ODD YEARS OF DOING THIS,THIS IS AN EFFECT THAT LIKE A GIFT KEEPS ON GIVING.SO WHEN YOUR LOOKING FOR THAT SOMETHING SPECIAL,TRY AND ADD AND FEEL WHAT IM SAYING AND IN THE BANK OF GOOD KARMA YOU HAVE MADE A LARGE DEPOSIT.
99.99% Will not make It In the music Industry as a band or entertainer. So whats the point of doing It??? The point Is "You can live forever" through your music. With the Internet,Anything you post will be around forever.Your saying "Hey I was here".Also there are other forms of making a good living off of writing great songs for others to cover. And all the other tech jobs and ancillary positions available to you after your band or artist experience. Also you can make a great contribution to your community:Ie Charity's and hospital visits for children and all the events were people are looking for a good time. Its not the end of the journey that counts,Its the journey Itself.Be as commercial as you can try and give It the old collage try.But after awhile don't be beating a dead horse. There's so much to give In all areas of life. And don't fall for that age BS,You may not be up front or the star,But all the people In the back round make It happen.Good luck and have a nice flight!!!!
Theres going to come a time In every artists life when the question becomes am I wasting my time???.I need to make money to live and music and art are not paying the bills. Here's the fork in the road,My advice to the really committed Is to find work In a related field to your art.Meaning If you cant do gigs and make your $$$ or be lucky enough to get a deal which will only hold you for a while without a hit record.Work In a rehearsal studio,A recording studio,A In a playhouse.Any related field Thats going to keep you In the loop of your Interests.Going Into a job un-related to your craft Is a losing situation which Is going to take you farther away from your dreams and settle you Into a life of routine and resentment.A lot has to do with talent, luck, right place, right time and showing up. Showing up Is 50% of anything.Stay the course at all costs and remember Its not the means to an end But the journey Itself,Theres where your joy lies.
Whats a band to do.Besides having a killer record and a massive touring schedule,Wining one fan at a time Its everywhere In between the big city's like LA and NY that counts.Do your thing!!I would just love to listen To what you have done pre-realese and give my honest opinion. Its all there for the asking.Just drop me a line.I do a lot of production all over the world via skype,Dont be shy.FE NYCxxx
