I spose my first blog should consist of a howdy and hello from the corfields of Illinois.
The Ric Soens Band is nearing completion of our first record "Hard Truths In Soft Denim" to be released 1st week of December 2010.
We've had quite the rollicking year; Dave broke his arm and nursed it back to one piece and good health. Nez joined the band as replacement for Daves left hand, tho we were left pianoless we trudged on without cancelling one gig.
Other than Nez, we've been together 2 full years and are calling our first rehearsal!
We recorded the album at Doug Ragans Studio in Peru, IL...
Were really looking forward to the new year and letting the band further find it's stride and personality. Looking forward to bigger and better gigs, even tho the bars treat us great, maybe some others out of town.
Anyone passing through LaSalle-Peru Illinois on rt 80 should drop me a line for clubs that hire and pay! Per capita we have ALOT
