CD Release

We are proud to announce that our first CD "Cowboy Wank" will officially be available this weekend.

There is an article about it in Windsor Social Magazine. Here it is:

Voodoo Mafia - by Todd Shearon

Lock up your liquor cabinet and forget the ‘toe tappin’. It’s time for some serious ‘ass slappin’. Straight off the floor of Indebasement Studios, Voodoo Mafia’s debut release, ‘Cowboy Wank’, provides enough grit to feed a southern state. Producer Jimmy Graham remembers his Voodoo Mafia experience. “They have such a raw in your face sound. They play like they mean it, and they mean it”, declares Graham.

‘Cowboy Wank’ is far more than an album title, it’s a self-proclaimed genre. ‘Cowboy’ represents the blues, rock and southern influences, while ‘Wank’ pretty much speaks for itself by providing the metal magnetism. VM bassist Durty B explains that, “Our music comes from musical experience as well as personal experience. We write what we feel and we feel what we write.”

‘Drag Me Down’ opens the floodgates with a steady barrage of angst filled riffs and aggressive vocals. “It’s about calling the shots, doing what you feel and not letting somebody else take the wheel”, declares VM front man Brian Markham.

Amidst the onslaught of infectious grooves, Voodoo Mafia’s wizardry finds solace in ‘Doesn’t Matter’. Markham explains, “We’re always living and learning. Just when you thought you learned your lesson, you realize you didn’t learn enough.”

Often accused of being too loud, the Windsor based trio aims to give their listeners a nice ‘kick in the box’. “We’re not trying to hurt anyone”, laughs Durty B. “It just seems that people get stuck in a box of the same old music all the time. We just want to shake it up a bit.”
