More About Martian Soup Music

Heather Haze is a multi-instrumentalist, best known for her sizzling performances on sax.  She has performed with such legends as Little Feat and George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, and has appeared at the Apollo in New York City.  In addition to her widely sought-after sax virtuosity, she has recently broken out as a versatile solo artist in her own right.  She started Martian Soup Music in 2009 with the release of her acclaimed "Groovit Yourself" album.  Soon after its release, Heather was nominated for Best Rock at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for her popular "Buddha Baby."  in 2010, she was once again nominated for her new-age guitar work on "Tranquility."

David "Deej" Johnson, a.k.a. the "Flavor King," has been funking up audiences up and down the East Coast for most of his life.  Originally from Harlem, Deej migrated to New Orleans where he perfected the art of "rockin' the house", and twice performed at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Fest.  He has rocked the stage with dozens of top bands including Anders Osborne, All That, the Flavor Kings, Galactic, the Radiators, Average White Band, and Morris Day and the Time.  Part of the original Funky Octahedra band in Sarasota, Florida, he went on to reform the band, with Heather Haze on sax, until the band splintered in late 2007.
