Artist Bio

A musical collective / incubator based in Chapel Hill NC, ADFAR has been the playground / lab for several local area musicians, including members of BOAT BURNING, THEE DIRTYBEATS, DOM CASUAL, KILLER FILLER, and THE RUINS.

Projects/shows/obsessions:

o "Marquee Moon live" - Television's influential art-punk masterpiece Marquee Moon, performed live in its entirety;

o "Thee Dirtybeats" - swaggering, obscure "the "roots of iggy" style psychedelic / garage / proto-punk from the 60s, with a special emphasis on rare NC garage rock nuggets from the Blue Mold archival series Tobacco-A-Go-Go;

o "Boat Burning" - post-rock / psychedelia and hard ambiance: an experiment in 100% live instrumental improvisation/composition, each Boat Burning performance is totally unique

o "Notorious Byrd Brothers live" - a live recreation of The Byrds schizo, amphetamine-drenched breakup lp, The Notorious Byrd Brothers
