Artist Bio

Chuck Nash, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, is best known for his well-crafted, tightly arranged songs. Those who know him well recognize his lifelong commitment to creating honest music with no concern for the genre it may or may not fit into. It is a spirit of self re-invention & exploration that drives Nash as an artist. With that drive, Chuck, a relentless performer for over 15 years, recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by building a recording studio at his home in Jacksonville, FL for his future projects. Chuck enters 2011 having begun work on his next solo CD with bandmates Ken Nasta & Brian Homan; as well as with longtime friend & Kingpins co-founder Rob Piazza; & Ben Rowell of Big Sky and The Baby Grands. Look for a summer 2011 release of Nash's yet-to-be-titled album.

Nash released his first CD in 1997, under the name Kingpins, with drummer/ co-producer Rob Piazza. Kingpins, the Grand Prize Winner of Musician Magazine's nationwide songwriting competition, took their newfound success on tour of the southeast in support of its debut CD, earning an impressive regional following as well as radio spins nationwide. Kingpins later released a second CD of Nash-penned songs called Kings & Things. In 2005, Nash released his 3rd album under his own name entitled, Dressed In Yellow Light, with co-producer Jack Hayford, on Down In Front Records.

Nash's live show is unique in that Nash coaxes a lot of sound from his acoustic guitar with an out-of-the-box approach to effects and by altering his technique, allowing him to play bass lines while also playing guitar (note: there are NO loop pedals involved!). Nash’s guitar/bass approach along with bandmate Ken Nasta’s unorthodox drum set-up & bandmate Brian Homan’s out-of-the-box approach to the already difficult pedal-steel guitar combine for an instrumentation you simply will not see anywhere else.
