With well-received albums on Fellside Records under his belt (with Tryckster and Altar Native), Dave Camlin is a song writer of intelligence, passion and humour, and a versatile, dynamic and seasoned performer.
Currently performing solo, with a band (of varying size), with the 4-piece virtuoso ‘a capella’ group, Mouthful (www.myspace.com/mouthful1), the 8-piece vocal group ‘Human Music’ and in various collaborations with other artists including appearances at the Royal Opera House in 2008 and 2010 in Helen Chadwick’s ‘Dalston Songs’.
Based in west Cumbria, Dave performs in a range of musical styles covering folk, rock, jazz and more. He’s also the director of SoundWave, Cumbria’s Youth Music Action Zone (www.sound-wave.info) which has a programme of music-making, training and other networks across the county.
New solo album, 'Work Less', features a whole raft of great new songs, all instantly familar, including live favourites 'Work Less, Buy Less', 'Tonight Matthew', 'Cumberland Moon' and many more, with contributions from a host of wonderful guest musicians! Sister album, 'Buy Less' features highlights, rarities, out-takes and 'lost' recordings from 2000 - 2005, including previously unreleased material, and is currently only available as a free limited edition CD with the new album.
