In previous incarnations Bob was a bassist with The Eddie Miles Band, played mandolin with The Jedi Clampetts, and fronted Johnson City's Cruel Brothers, Knoxville's Jello Kitty, and The Tone Dogs in Chattanooga. He received co-writer credit for a song used in "White Noise" with Micheal Keaton, ate a sandwich made by Sammy Davis Jr, and shared a bowl of Captain Crunch with a Princess (two spoons!). He produced a musical variety show on Public Access TV, "In the Groove with Bob Carty". He communicates with the ghosts of Howlin'Wolf and Slim Harpo.
It is rumored that once on the way to anger management class he bit a junkyard dog.
Now, both solo and with his band, The Real Bob Carty is burning up nightspots throughout the South and working on a DVD of live performances "The Real Bob Carty-Accept No Substitute".
