Artist Bio

I read this somewhere: “The man who knows his limitations has none.” That, to me, means knowing when to hire a professional to do something that I have no business attempting myself. But yet here I am writing my own biography.

I am from a suburb of San Francisco called Los Altos. It was a great place to grow up, and now it is a beautiful place to visit. When I was a kid, my interests were varied: football, bagel dogs, Stephen King, baseball, Stouffer’s pizzas, Rocky Road, music, nachos. In high school, they narrowed to just football and the foodstuffs. Because of this newfound focus, UCLA offered me a football scholarship.

So I spent the late nineties playing defensive tackle for UCLA. I was a starter on the legendary (to us) 1997 and 1998 teams- we went 20-2 over those two seasons. I played in the 1998 Cotton Bowl (W) and the 1999 Rose Bowl (don’t ask). After that phase of my life had wound down, I started writing songs.

Now I have a degree from UCLA, a Collings D2H, a 1940’s Underwood typewriter, and a bike that I ride instead of driving a car. I live in Nashville.
