Artist Bio
Jeff Alan Greenway is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter who has been writing and performing for more than 10 years. He just recently received an honorable mention for his song "Cavalry" in the Song of the Year contest, was the recipient of a FACTOR New Talent award, and he has received two honorable mentions with UNISONG.
Premier Canadian jazz pianist Bernie Senensky wrote "Jeff is a talented singer/songwriter who draws on many different styles in his writing, and his original material is very creative, unique, and professional". Jeff is currently working on an original CD which will be released later this year, and his music is available online through iTunes and Amazon.com.
His original music has been influenced by and compared to artists such as Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Jamie Cullum, early Billy Joel and Elton John. Fusing elements of jazz and folk with pop and rock, his songs feature both unique melodic & rhythmic piano styles and passionate vocals.
Lyrically, Jeff speaks from both the heart and the head. While relationships are always a favorite topic, he also likes to analyze the differences and similarities in human experience, particularly in love, loss and the search for personal identity.

He is a graduate from the Humber College jazz program in Toronto, and can be frequently found performing or recording with many different Canadian artists, including Ron Korb, Noah Zacharin, Kobe James, and independent artists Nate Daniels (Cai.ro), Marcus Walker, Di Thomas, Rehan Dalal, Steve Otis Gunn, and Amy Pitt.
He has worked in the studio with such producers/engineers as Mark Zubek (Blaise Pascal, Crash Test Dummies) and Jeremy Darby (former live engineer for U2, Pink Floyd and Prince), and has played live at many venues including Free Times Cafe, Cadillac Lounge, C'est What and the Rivoli.
His talents have been recognized with a FACTOR Canada New Talent Award, a profile on Rogers Cable, two honorable mentions in the UNISONG international songwriting contest and an honorable mention for his song "Cavalry" in the international 2010 Song Of The Year contest.
Jeff is currently working on his first CD as an independent artist, to be released in fall 2011.
