Portable Pony started in 2006 with a decision by Simon Moran and Emma Adams to experiment with a recording project. Simon and Emma have known each other for years and have played in several bands together, including Galitza. It all started out well until they realised they couldn't understand how to record things. So then they got Rick Robinson (previously in Kato) by lying to him that they just wanted him for his recording studio skills. This was a half truth alright as they wanted him for his soul and his bass playing also. Having drawn him in, Rick has not been allowed to leave. The first half of 2008 was spent recording the STELLALONA e.p. The SKILLS e.p. has taken forever. It has been an official labour of love which has driven the three Ponies mad, forcing them to embrace their inner OCD tendencies to complete it. SKILLS! Yes... Listen and enjoy and then prepare yourselves for live action... Which brings us back to the beginning. Trying to learn to play all of this has given the Pony the fear. Until that is they decided to ask Nick Tonge (ex Zoopsia and Falconetti) to just help them out for a bit. Honest... Fool. He will never leave. Now playing live in West Yorkshire - keep an eye on the listings.
