I perform our songs as lead vocalist, with previously recorded looping backing tracks. TC-Helicon's VoiceLive 2 is feeding my muse and allowing me to be more productive (http://www.tc-helicon.com/products/voicelive-2/). My Line 6 amp serves as the centralized looper for the backing vocals, Ned Steinberger 5-String Electric Cello and Roland Handsonic electronic-percussion.
Among my many varied inspirations are Voltaire, Trent Reznor, Dead Can Dance, S O R I A H, Lycia, Type O Negative, Cinematic Orchestra, Pink Martini, Richard Cheese, Dr. Demento, John Cage.
I've played in lots of bands and projects, and switched instruments several times, giving me a well rounded background for going forward with producing and performing my own songs.
Viola Frigg:
Viola is an integral part of my music, providing excellent song lyrics, and inspiration from her alter-ego writer persona "J. Anne Fullerton". The very first song I wrote was inspired by her poem "Bittersweet". Other notable songs are "Cemetery Road", "Mechanical Heart", and "She Haunts the Movie House".
Our current project is "Brimstone's Crematorium", a collection of songs inspired by the works of J. Anne Fullerton, including the novels "Oubliette" and "Shepherd's Moon".
