Hometown: Baltimore, MD
Sal Bando is the garage rock vision of Cris Cowan. We have released one 7" record and have another e.p. and a second 7" ready to go as well. We have played shows with touring bands like: Obits, Polvo, the Jaccuzzi Boys, and Surfer Blood, as well as a bunch of local acts...we just wanna play music every night if we could...we are constantly practicing and writing new songs... Fueled by Natty Boh...
“Summer Fun Indeed
There’s new album out that captures the essence of Summer…and the record is just as hot as the heatwave we’re having.
Sal Bando has just released their Ep Summer Fun. Every track on this disc is meant to be played loud in this muggy heat with the windows down.
The band is not to be confused with the third baseman and World Series Champion for the A’s from’72-’74 seen here. I bet the slugger had no idea that his moniker would be the perfect name for a trio from Baltimore who I can only assume, are fans of America’s favorite pass time. And just like baseball, a few cold ones are a nice pairing with the group’s tunes. This is the kind of music that’s on in the background of the summer’s biggest party, the one you’ll be telling stories about when winter is in full force.
They’re fun, loud and have nothing to hide. “Summer Jam” and “Antiques Roadshow”

"...surf/garage band that sorta sounds like the Hold Steady if Craig Finn actually knew how to sing..."
