Artist Bio
Diana Rose is a Country/Pop/Christian singer-songwriter, originally from Rockford, IL, where she grew up in a very musical household. Diana has been singing practically since birth and writing songs for over 10 years, but it wasn’t until 2004 when she graced the Twin Cities music scene. Since completing her musical studies at McNally Smith College of Music and Augsburg College, her voice and her writing have blossomed tremendously. She now has the ability to deeply captivate an audience with just her voice, her piano, and her message.
Not only is Diana a skilled vocalist and seasoned writer, but she also has a spunk and zest for life, which adds a little something extra to her work. In a nutshell, she is a vibrant, creative spirit, who enjoys writing about life, love, loss, and everything in between. She likes to think of her songs as stories woven together with carefully selected words, melodies and harmonies; these stories all share the same purpose: to speak to the human soul. Diana's constant goal is to leave people feeling uplifted, inspired, and empowered when they hear her music.
Ms. Rose has already gained significant recognition for her songwriting abilities, yet she never stops pushing herself to write better and more impactful songs. Her song, "Tired of Gettin' Rained On" took 4th place in the Durango Songwriters Expo 2010 Songwriting Contest, and she was a Top 25 Finalist in the 2008 Music City International Songwriting Competition, for her song "Rather Be Single.” Diana has won multiple awards in the Women in Music Minnesota (WIMMN) Songwriting Contests, where in 2010 her songs “Silent” and “Everything I Got” took 2nd and 3rd place respectively, and in 2006 her song "Someone's Gotta Change" took 1st place.
Diana continues to make waves in the Twin Cities with her original music, and she hopes that her hard work and passion for writing will help her make even bigger waves nationally and internationally. Like many other musicians out there I LIVE for being creative. I believe I was put on this planet to be a songwriter. That is my purpose in life, second only to loving and serving God and others. I've been singing since I was just a few years old, and have always felt connected to that artistic side of myself, even before I began writing music.
In 2006 I completed my schooling at McNally Smith College of Music, and will be forever grateful to my teachers there, for the wisdom and knowledge they imparted on me. Since graduating, however, I've learned that the majority of our learning takes place outside the classroom, especially in the music business. I've learned that success as a singer/songwriter is not merely dependent on the amount of talent you have, but on how hard you work to constantly improve yourself as writer/performer and make yourself known to the world. That is my focus now. To write write write...sing sing sing....and be forever learning how to do both of those better.
I'll be the first to admit that I am merely a piece of a giant puzzle called "music"...and it is my sincere hope that you like what I have to offer.
