Artist Bio
Baltimore based Progressive Metal artists Rome Apart pride themselves in their high energy and power-packed live shows. Showcasing their unique blend of what they coined as "the lazy mans progressive" metal, the band taps into musical elements and influences that not only span the genre but destroy all boundaries entirely. Their balance of electronica and thrash metal is easy to digest and leaves no sticky residue. Even your girlfriend will enjoy blasting their music in the car.
The bands debut album, "Others," pays homage to their progressive roots with songs like "Swan Song" and "Connections" while the epic "The Rift" dives violently into the murky waters of drone and death metal. Initially released via the internet as a free download in late 2006, "Others" later became available from the bands iTunes store page.
Their 2009 follow up album, "Self," took to a greater contrast by infusing the polar extremes of progressive metal and electronica. The concept album, based on the struggles to remain true to yourself, is laden with moments of brutality seamlessly married with drifting ambiance.
Currently, the band is hard at work on their third release which has been noted as being the heaviest and most complex work they have produced to date.
