Artist Bio

Global Heat was the Winner of 2011 Jammin’ Challenge produced by MySeattleNightOut.com; Seattle Wave Radio; and the Hard Rock Cafe (starting with >50 Seattle bands). Formed in 2002 as a collaboration of international musicians living in the Pacific Northwest (USA), Global Heat has toured nationally and internationally to provide high-quality entertainment for festivals, concerts, and corporate events. Global Heat was a featured act at the 2006 Shanghai International Music Festival for a week of performances in Shanghai, China. Based in Seattle (Washington State, USA), band members have performed in over 25 countries worldwide, including tours of Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Global Heat’s lead hip hop artists are well known, with Justin Murta currently attracting audiences up to 8000 in Ho Chi Minh City. Orbitron, who is one of Seattle’s most celebrated emcees and B-boys, is also a founding member of Circle of Fire and SoulShifters (in recent dance performance at the Moore Theatre, Seattle). In addition to his work with Global Heat, Orbitron has been featured at international events such as Battle of the Year 2000 (Germany), Dance Delight 2001 (Japan), Armory Cup 2006 (Korea), and Juste de bout 2007 (Paris). He has been an invited judge and featured dancer at major annual break-dance competitions in Seoul, Korea for almost a decade. Beyond festivals and concerts, Global Heat’s members are well known on the school circuit, having performed up to 200 shows per year in schools across the USA. Global Heat has also collaborated with top African dancers, including Awal Alhassan (of the prestigious Ghana Dance Ensemble, National Theatre of Ghana, and Center for National Culture Dance Troupe) to produce new choreography showing the links between traditional African dance steps and hip hop styles.
