Artist Bio
Rue Morgue was formed in 2007 by Bruce Bray, Duane Gilbert, and Eric Stoutenburgh. The three musicians had played the Arizona circuit for years and befriended one another. They had talked about putting a band together for a couple of years but could never quite find the time. Finally, the three of them made a commitment to put together a group of musicians that could handle the type of metal they all enjoyed playing. This band would be different than others, focusing on music with tempo and energy. Eric had known a singer in another local band named Randy Altergott. After talking to Randy, Eric felt confident he would be interested in this venture. Both Duane Gilbert and Johnny Quiones have played in the band as well. As of 2010, Lee Reichenbacher joine the band on drums.
The band juggled several names before settling for Rue Morgue. The name comes from an Edgar Allen Poe murder mystery. The name seemed an appropriate backdrop for their brand of heavy metal music. Brandishing a motto of ALL THINGS METAL, no one would confuse them with a pop / rock / dance band
