“YOU’RE GOING TO HOLLYWOOD”! Yes, I am a Season 11 American Idol contestant, no small accomplishment. Wanting to be an Artist in the music industry is something I take seriously, but having the ability to write my own music, takes my appreciation for being in this industry to another level. Let's face it, the music industry is not all glory. Tons of dedication and hard work is required to advance. Being just 15 years old, I am in pursuit to make music that will leave a legacy and bring happiness to anyone who listens. Making history in Nashville, TN in 2009, being the youngest to sign a Major Publishing Deal at 13 years old, and only just recently made history yet again with the 17th Annual USA SONGWRITING COMPETITION CONTEST by being the youngest to win 1st Place in the Country Music category and 3 Place Overall for a song I co-wrote – GO THERE. Winning or placing in 5 different songwriting competitions in the last 2 years, I don't plan on slowing down. Setting the bar high, I would love to make history by winning a Grammy for being the youngest to write and perform a song I wrote.
My early influences were Johnny Cash and June Carter, Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline. I would listen with awe and then try and duplicate their sound and dream of one day gracing the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. Continuing to listen to the classics, you will find on my IPOD the amazing Celine Dion, Faith Hill and Brook Fraser. Whether I am listening to other artists’ vocal ability or their songwriting skills, classic or current, I am constantly feeding my creative veins MUSIC!
From “the D” - Detroit, MI, now living in Nashville, TN, I plan on 2012 being a year of more history making events, musical growth, change, progress and impact! I’ve been blessed to work with incredible people and I can’t wait to see where all our hard work takes us! This is a long journey, but it’s worth every mile!
