If you're here already, give them a listen. It'll only take a few minutes! Thanks!

More About Michael Wu - Bassist

Michael is a free lance bassist in the Greater Binghamton, NY, region. He is currently playing with One Click Culture, a rock / pop / funky and sometimes jazzy trio. Michael also has as side studio project called The Uninvited, a partnership with Lo-Fi Resistance principal Randy McStine, and does some session / production / arranging / songwriting work. And, in his latest venture, he is getting into theater work again, but, this time as a Musical Director.

Although his roots are firmly planted in progressive rock / metal, Michael has been involved in projects that span many styles. He has performed with a few notable regional acts like The Visionary Project, Mule in the Corn, and Try.Fail.Repeat with a technique that's been described as, "...complex yet tightly controlled".

Michael has a few independent recording credits, recording and releasing two moderately successful EP's with The Visionary Project: Painless ('94) and A Personal Renaissance ('95). And with TFR he wrote and performed on Waking Dream ('07), Drone Effect ('08), and Graveyard Shift ('09).

His debut solo album, "Wu", was released in December of 2002 (Wumusic, ltd.). The CD represented a first for a couple of things: he wrote all the music and lyrics, and performed the guitar as well as his main gig, bass. His music ended up being a cross between his early influences in progressive music, and his delve into pop / singer-songwriter styles.

Reviews have described the CD as "...strong roots in progressive rock, as well as intelligent pop music. It is a refreshing mix of creative lyrics and memorable compositions. His debut solo CD combines creative vocal melodies and progressive twists with modern rock structures."

Michael has been playing Michael Tobias Design bass guitars exclusively since 2007 and is an MTD endorsee. Many folks say that MTDs are the best bass guitars in the world. He agrees.
