Biography:

Phat Mat was born in Guelph, Ontario on October 27th 1986. Shortly after his family moved to Fergus, Ontario where he would then spend his entire childhood and teenage years. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School in Guelph from 2000-2004. This Was the part of his life where he would fall in love with Hip Hop music but hadn't yet realized his true fate as an underground artist. He started hanging out with Robbie G (now his close friend, main emcee and business partner) in the summer of 2004. He then attended Center Wellington District High School where they became close friends, hung out on their lunch breaks and kicked it after school as Rob's place was close by. Robbie G's house was a place of good times and sick rhymes. He and KonRad started writin tracks that summer which would eventually inspire Phat Mat to take up the extremely beloved hobbie in the spring of 2005, when (given name) Mathieu Richard Patenaude created the Hip Hop alias PHAT MAT. On June, 5 of 2007 he became a father to his son Aiden Richard Garner. Over the next few years writin rhymes became a way for Mat to get shit off his chest and out of his mind. Which would lead to a lot of hard work and some big dreams and asparations. What was once a form of venting became a realistic means for a musical career. Although he wrote his first rap song when he was 13 he never really got truely involed in Hip Hop until the age of 18 when he actually recorded his first song. "Down in Robbie G's basement", quoted by many. He still lives in Fergus and released his first Mixtape on January 2nd, 2010. But this was only the beginning, Phat Mat has been performing shows almost every week, sometimes more. With much more to come, Phat Mat's Career is just starting to take off and looks to be very promising.
