Broke On Payday plain and simply rock out. On their debut album “Switching Colors” the band captures the energy of their live show which always leaves room to breathe by inviting improvisational creativity. The band’s influences are very different but manage to find common ground in 70s, 80s & 90s inspired modern hard rock. After many years of constant live performance the band has taken the time to complete their long awaited debut album. The album features several co-writes with former Crackerjack front man Trevor Chesal and is fantastic anytime music. Lead Single “Shelter” and follow up "Perfect" both received airplay on several stations in both indie & commercial rock stations.
Hailing from Truro, NS Canada Broke on Payday can interchange moods and styles from track to track yet manage to sound cohesive. The band, consisting of Rock Johnson (Vocals/Guitar), Myke Smith (Guitar/Vocals), Corey Shortliffe (Bass/Vocals) & Dave Curry (Drums/Vocals), are no frills guys in a frills filled world, but when they step on stage the big vocals, slick guitar, heavy bottom end & solid grooves command attention. Shortliffe replaced founding member Jason Chesal after the release of "Switching Colors". Fans of bands like Audioslave, Black Crowes, Collective Soul, and Stone Temple Pilots would find Broke on Payday fit well within that playlist.

“[RE: Shelter] "The bass player gets free beers all night from this table. The tight guitar work is panned nicely...the drummer should be wearing a Cape. Fantastic vocal work and delivery...here's to having someone with the green coming in and rewarding you guys with the freedom to drink all the beers you accumulate. Amazing band element...very highly recommended listen from this perch."”
Bri-an - Mixposure
“[RE: Shelter] "Excited grooves & excellent mix. Solid vocals & harmonies. Like the group name too. Welcome on board."”
