ARTIST BIO.... MUSIC AWARD WINNING ARTIST!
Garry Moore has a long musical history! A singer, songwriter, musician, and producer. He wrote his first song at age 12, and now has a catalog of over 700 songs. Garry began his musical journey at age 9 when his grandmother formed a gospel quintet of 3 cousins, a friend, and himself. He was the lead vocalist and guitarist of the young group. Influenced by the Beatles, he picked up the guitar at age 10. His father also played which inspired him as well. As he grew older he sharpened his guitar skills listening to Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, George Benson, Al Mckay, and other guitar greats. His gospel influences as a teenager were Andrae Crouch, The Mighty Clouds Of Joy, Rance Allen and Edwin Hawkins. Other musical influences were Earth Wind & Fire, The Commodores, The Isley Brothers, The Average White Band and The Jacksons. At age 19 he formed the group "New Joy" They recorded their first (45) single the following year (1980) on the H.S.E. record label in Nashville Tennessee. Three years later they changed the name of the group to 'Fire Power' and recorded their first LP album and released it in 1984. The group opened up for artist like the world renowned Grammy award winning group The Mighty Clouds Of Joy and The Williams Brothers. The group continued to do concerts during the 80's. In early 1990 Fire Power began recording their 2nd album, but the group disbanded in the middle of their 2nd studio album. Only 6 songs were recorded (partially) so the material was never released until 2011. Five songs from those 1990 recording sessions were released on an EP entitled "Unfinished Business" by Garry Moore. In 1997 Garry recorded and released his first solo Cd titled "You're Never Alone". He then followed up that project 4 years later in 2001 with a Cd titled "Yahweh" which rendered the number 1 radio Hit Single "Come As You Are" Several songs from the Cd received heavy rotation on many college stations. After a long hiatus of 8 years from the music scene "Paradise" was released in 2009 and re-released by T.M.G in 2010. Garry's 4th Cd was released in June 2011 entitled "A Blessing For You" which won The Indie Music Award in Hollywood for "Best Male Gospel Artist". In October 2012 he released his 5th Cd titled "Breakthrough" Which won The Indie Music Channel Award for "Best Gospel Music Producer" Of 2013 for the hit song "God Is So Good" also a "Nomination Certificate Award for Best Album Of The Year" and a Nomination Certificate Award for being nominated 12 times in 11 categories. His 6th Cd "HERO" was released in June of 2014. Seven songs from the Hero album were nominated for Indie Music Awards winning "Best Male Gospel Artist" of 2014 for the song "I Can't Live Without You". In 2016 his 7th Cd "Triumphant Volume 1" was released. Three songs from the album were nominated for music awards. "Whiter Than Snow" "Stand Up And Clap Your Hands" and "You Get The Glory" the song "You Get The Glory" won The Akademia Music Award for The Best Gospel Song Award. In 2017 his 8th Cd "Triumphant Volume 2" was released. The single "What You Come To Do" was nominated for two Indie Music Channel Awards and also won The Akademia Music Award for Best Gospel Song. The single "God Is Bigger" won The Radio Music Award for Best Gospel Artist 2017 and also won The Indie Music Channel Award for Best Gospel Recording.
In 2018 his 9th studio album "Eternal" was released and debuted at number#14 on the Billboard Top Selling Gospel Albums Chart maintaining that position for 3 weeks. Several songs from the album have been recognized and rewarded. The single "The Cross" won The Radio Music Award for Best Gospel Song in 2018. Also winning The Akademia Music Award for Best Urban Gospel Song in 2019. The song "Love Will Get Us There" won The Indie Music Channel Award for Best Gospel Artist of 2019, and the jazzy single "Sunday Afternoon" was nominated for 5 Rhythm Of Gospel Awards in 2019. In 2020 his 10th studio album was released debuting at #6 on The Billboard Top Selling Gospel Album Chart, which four songs from the album were nominated for music awards. In 2021 the single "Jesus In The Midnight Hour" won The Indie Music Award for 'Best Gospel Producer' and the Akademia Music Award for 'Best Christian/Gospel Song'. In 2022 "The Last Days (Volume 1)" was released with "It's Time To Praise The Lord" and several other songs from the album climbing to #1. or charted in the top 5 on radio stations in Atlanta and Chicago.. In 2023 "The Last Days (Volume 2) was released, with another #1. radio hit in Atlanta titled "Looking For You" and it remained in the top 10 for one year and winning The Indie Radio Music Award for Best Gospel Producer.. In 2024 "Victorious" was released with the singles "I Feel A Lot Better" and "We Walk By Faith" reaching #1. or in the top 5 on several radio stations in several countries. "I Feel A Lot Better" also won The Indie Radio Music Award for Best Gospel Song.
