Biography:

Watzlawick are a four-piece Post-Hardcore band based in Pisa, Italy.
Since their foundation in January 2009 they played over 50 shows through Italy and Ireland sharing the stage with bands like The Ocean, Celeste, The Secret, Lento, Dead Elephant, Coilguns, Zippo, Destrage, Subhuman, So Called Celeste, The Prestige; on January 1st, 2010 they released their first EP "Prologue", totally self-produced, receiving great reviews from press and webzines all over Europe and being featured on compilations like “This is Core vol.1” (1 song / Wynona Records) and “Soundz like Noize” (1 song / Noize Italia Webzine); during 2010 they had the chance to work with Licia Marino (PFM) shooting two live videos while rehearsing that reached more than 50.000 views on their youtube channel.
Now they're working on their debut album containing eleven brand new songs, that is set to be released in 2012.
They are going to feed your brain with a blend of huge riffs, mathemical grooves and cathartic landscapes leaving to you the interpretation of their musical non-model: communication is in the ear of the listener.

Press:

“Mathrock and prog hand in hand with hardcore. Definitely something worth it.”
Emiliana Pistillo - MArteMagazine

“In the sea of alternative-clone bands, there's someone really alternative.”
(sic)VII - Noize Italia - (2010 Top Bands Compilation)

“A high caliber work that is a small treatise on sound experiments. Opening up to new horizons has never been so pleasent”
Andrea Angelino - Heavy Impact (Italy) - 8/10

“It seems like each song was made to get inside you and not to come out very easily.”
Pasa - ShapelessZine (Italy) - 8/10

“Prologue is an exciting journey to the edges of post-rock and psychedelia, able to lead you through raging waves of guitar distortions and intense melancholic reflections.”
Dario Iocca - Italia di Metallo (Italy) - 8.5/10

“I've rarely listened to such a compact and powerful sound on a self released work.”
Francesco Nunziata - Ondarock (Italy)

““Prologue is as ambitious a record as its title implies, and speaks to me loudly enough that I’ll be watching keenly for the band’s first appearances on these shores.””
Paul Graham Raven - The Dreaded Press (UK)

““Watzlawick ain't copycats, here they burn very own fireworks and absolutely got what it takes!” -”
Johannes Schmuck - Metal.de (Germany) - 7/10

“The tones are fantastic and their ideas are really fresh. Their advantage is that they mix rock and metal in a crazy way, I can connect them (in sound matters) with ‘Russian Circles’ and this is honorable.”
Sovereign - Noizine (Greece)

“Il loro gusto verso il rumore controllato, l’urgenza di buttar fuori emozioni scure e il modo e la facilità in cui fanno tutto questo convince senza dubbio alcuno. Dopo questo ep d’esordio non possiamo che aspettarci un seguito altrettanto interessante e pieno di trasporto.”
Valentina Zardini - SoundMagazine (Italy)
