Jeremy Steding’s fourth studio album, My Own American Dream, travels the highways, honky tonks and pubs of the world. Immediately, you’re hooked into the rhythmic romance of “Stay.” You’ll want to. Steding’s songs, vocals and band are better than ever. Enhanced by the tasteful production of Chris Gill and super-musicianship of Lloyd Maines and Tim Crouch, this album is a fun journey to take!
Jeremy Steding was raised, in a musical family, on the jingle jangle of The Byrds, the stories of John Prine and the rhythms of Buddy Holly. These influences blend pleasantly in the catchy tale of reconciliation, “Love Love Love.” Compared to Jim Croce, Steding also has a knack for painting bittersweet pictures, as displayed on “Arkansas Rain” and “Walker County Fair.”
Jeremy was turned on to independent Texas/Red Dirt Music while attending the University of Florida. Long a fan of Willie and Waylon, he was now also a fan of Cory Morrow and Robert Earl Keen. “The Story,” nostalgically pays homage to Keen’s “Feeling Good Again.”
An Austin local since ‘07, Steding is now an international touring artist and a staple in the TXRD scene. He draws inspiration from contemporaries such as: The Turnpike Troubadours and national acts such as The Zac Brown Band. The dance halls are a second home. The autobiographical title track, invites you in for some two-stepping. When you’re almost danced- out the Irish-inspired “Four Hour Gig” will bring you back up!
My Own American Dream is Jeremy Steding’s best work yet. Six years of pavement, pens, paper, triumphs and heartaches are paying dividends. The new album has produced three Top 30 singles, "Lyin'," "Stay," and "My Own American Dream." "Love Love Love" is the latest release and will hit the Top 50 nest week! Look for Jeremy and his band, The Rebellion, to start seeing more and more dreams come true!
“Every now and then an album comes out that I can't get enough of. Jeremy Steding's My Own American Dream is that album for me right now.”
Neely Yates - The Red Dirt Rebel - KJDL
“Lyin' " is one of the BEST songs on radio, it has a FANTASTIC HOOK, and the music is CONTAGIOUS!”
Brad Heitman - KSTV - Mighty 93 Stephenville, TX
““Seven singles have shown up on the Texas Charts, and this is the best to date.””
Brian Strickland - Music of New Braunfels
“Although I am the station manager.....I often run upstairs and plug in your music to play throughout my days at the radio station! I love it!”
Tracy Rash - Lampasas Radio
“Great new song, Jeremy! (On Lyin')”
JD Walker - Walker Communications
“Five Aprils is a chilling Civil War tale while the opening song Annie Ray positively bursts with energy and that twang sound with an audacious and successful segue into the title song. I Keep On Livin’, But I don’t Learn in itself has a real crowd-pleasing quality to it and you can imagine it being a real showstopper live. The stand out song here is Paint the Town Red, When They’re Blue. A wonderful waltz into Butch Hancock territory it’s a tremendous piece.”
Paul Kerr - Blabber n' Smoke
“En ‘I keep on livin’….’ Is een lekker Texaans product. Je waant je in één van die prachtige oude Texaanse Dance Halls, met een biertje in de hand en een Stetson op het hoofd en naast je een bevallige Texaanse. Genieten van Jeremy’s muziek, met hopelijk de bezetting van deze CD op het podium. Zulk soort muziek. Gaaf!
”
Fred Schmale - Real Roots Cafe
“Blessed with a voice that is frequently down in the baritone range, he sounds an awful lot older than his pictures suggest; his style is all his own but is undeniably and solidly country, so that at various moments he sounds like a new Don Williams, or even a new Johnny Cash.”
John Davy - Flyinshoes Review
“Het eerste echte hoogtepunt is ‘Arkansas Rain’, een folkachtige ballad die de gevoelige kant van Jeremy bloot geeft. Het mooie geluid van de Pedal steel, bespeeld door Kim Deschamps”
Ruud Monde - www.rootstime.be
“I Keep On Livin', But I Don't Learn kicks off with the rowdy "Annie Ray" and ends with my favorite "Five Aprils" a great song about the Civil War and in between is filled with eight other great tracks.”
Edward Karn - No Depression
"I'll Keep On Livin', But I Don't Learn" is a remarkably diverse artistic work which offers music that will stand the test of time. Although the title of the album declares that Steding isn't learning, this reviewer disagrees. Indeed, an album this good provides more than enough evidence that Jeremy Steding is like your favorite bottle of whiskey by getting better with age.

“Steding and his studio band understand what makes a good country song. Musicianship, songwriting skills and a sense of history. These, Steding and crew have in spades.”
Andrew Griffin - Red Dirt Report
“Check out “Paint the Town Red When They’re Blue,” which sounds like a lost Don Williams hit. The Gentle Giant himself couldn’t have sung it any better.”
CM Wilcox - Country California
“You can easily imagine Jeremy Steding’s voice belting out songs at a bivouac by the fireside during the civil war. The music is timeless. He may be a reincarnate.”
Josh Tucker - Roothoog Radio
“If you are looking for true, raw and real country - you'll find it on I Keep On Living... Those looking for over-produced, bubblegum-pop country.....need not apply.”
Neely Yates - Best in Texas Magazine
“Suffice it to say that this Essential Listening and when it drops on the 28th you should pick it up immediately. I have no doubts this one will end up in my top ten albums of the year because I am sucker for straight up real country music and that’s what this is.”
RomeoSidVicious - Nine Bullets
“Steding has an immediately recognizable baritone twang (made more unique, maybe, by his Florida upbringing before he found his way to Austin), a knack for making classic country sound brand new again within his funny, self-aware, occasionally poignant songwriting voice.”
Mike - Texas Music TV
“With a voice like Cash, clever songwriting, and a throwback honky-tonk sound all his own, Jeremy Stedding is filling a void in the music of Texas and beyond.”
Brad - Galleywinter
“Obviously heavily influenced by Cash, Steding stayed true to his strictly country roots with bouncy melodies from start to finish.”
Alissa Davis - The Blue Light Live - Show Reviews
“Jeremy (Steding) put on one of the best shows I have seen in a long time and the crowd loved it!”
Hunter Artz - Texas Scene
““Let the Boys Drink Whiskey” has always been my motto. When I heard Jeremy’s song, I knew we were both on to something!”
Ed Shane - Owner, Shane Media
“It takes a special kind of artist to capture an audience from the minute he steps on stage to the very end of that last breath of his live set. However, Jeremy Steding IS that special kind of artist”
Neely Yates - KJDL - True Country 105.3, Lubbock, TX
“Cool Texas Sound with kind of an Irish flair”
Jim Nash - The Ranch 106.9 fm, Corsicana, TX
“You sell my bar beer.”
Rick Smitherman - The Old Coupland Inn and Dancehall
"I was expecting another entry into the Texas frat-country society, and then Jeremy blew my ears wide open. He writes extremely well and delivers his originals with an incredibly soulful and melodic voice (a la Marty Robbins) with distinct and strong hooks. A Damn Good Ride, is just that...."
Wade Phillips - Outlaw Magazine
“I'm using The Sand Panther Medicine show as the intro on my radio show.”
Fred Boenig - The Alternate Root
“I heard Jeremy Steding live at Gruene Music Hall and might have fallen in love with his music that night. He has an amazing voice and a unique sound. I have never heard anything quite like it.”
Amy - Lonestar Music
“With his rich-and-rugged baritone, Jeremy Steding and his band embrace a retro country style as evidenced on the twangy and clever “The Day to Day, Today,” with its influences that range from Marty Robbins to Merle Haggard.”
Andrew W. Griffin - Red Dirt Report
“as far as the more country and western shows go I am not sure you could do better these days.”
Romeo Sid Vicious - The Rock Report

Amy Lacey - Best In Texas
“Jeremy Steding is a new guy on the scene that you defintely don't want to miss.”
Katie Key - Texas Music Chart
“His new album, A Damn Good Ride, nicely closes the gap between the old school (chugging Johnny Cash rhythms, fiddle & steel-driven arrangements) and the new school (warmly mixed sonics, smartly self-aware comedy) with a mix of sincerity and cleverness.”
Bootlegga - Lonestar Music Online
“Jeremy Steding's unique brand of classic country melodies with a Red Dirt edge is one ride you don't want to miss.”
