Biography:

Colour the Moon is the main musical project of guitarist, percussionist, and songwriter Matt VanOpdorp. The project produces mainly rock-based music with influences which are the opposite of post rock; instead of playing classical music on rock instruments, we are playing rock music on non-traditional instruments. The end result is a unique brand of instrumental acoustic rock.

Matt has recorded an EP and an LP with his long-time friend and fellow studio geek, Graham Sedam. The two have been working on further expanding the sounds produced by this project while considering the desire to collaborate with other musicians, mainly those that play folk and classical instruments.

The spirit of the project has always been to just make good music for the sake of the enjoyment of it. There are no goals to set, no deadlines to meet, no expectations are present. The only goal is to produce thought-provoking art that comes purely from the heart.
