Performing either SOLO or as a member of the duo
"OSO the CROW" (reverbnation.com/OsotheCrow),
Martha Ann shares with her audience the heart and soul of a true storyteller.
While her songs are well grounded in traditional Country, Folk, and Roots music
with a sensible nod to Rock & Roll, they have contemporary and unique elements
that keep them fresh. The quality of her voice and playing allude to the influences
of Guy Clark, David Olney, Kevin Gordon, John Prine, Lucinda Williams, Mary Gauthier,
John Denver, and Emmy Lou Harris - along with many other similar artists.
Her performances draw people in, touch their hearts, and leave them wanting more.
Born in Montgomery, AL and raised in Augusta, GA, Martha Ann graduated from the University of Georgia before moving to Atlanta where she began her career as a solo artist.
After a successful year playing solo, she expanded her act and performed with bands for the next five years. Along the way, she managed to garner a couple of nominations from "The Atlanta Society of Entertainers" for both "Female Vocalist of the Year" as well as "Band of the Year" (with the band "Cherokee Creek).
She continued her musical career after a move to northwest Georgia where she focused primarily on songwriting and her solo performances. While there, Martha Ann released a couple of well received CDs
( “Simply...” and “Lately...” ).
Her song “When Your Soldier Comes Back Home” (from her CD ".....Simply") was selected for Neil Young’s “Living With War” website, where it held the #1 spot out of over 3,500 songs for 10 weeks. Another of her songs "Could We Go Back" (from her CD ".....Lately") also reached the #1 spot on Neil Young's website for 6 weeks.
During that time, she also received an artist endorsement from Stonebridge Guitars (Canada).
Martha Ann has since relocated to Vancouver, Washington where she continues to perform regionally as either a solo act or as a member of the duo "Oso the Crow".

Vicki Blankenship, President - We R Indie (USA)
"Martha Ann is a little bit country, a lot of folk, along with a healthy mix of blues and Americana. She has much respect for many genres of music and it shows in her songwriting. She pulls from all kinds of experiences in her life, people she meets, and phrases she hears. She can seriously tell a story in her songs and it was fun to hear her tell the stories behind the music. The one that may have hit me the most was an unbelievable song that she wrote called, "Dead or Alive" that left me in awe. She is truly a great talent."
Jim Boles - ChattaCountry.com (USA)
