Papa Satch is a Long Island, New York–based rock band creating heartfelt, story-driven music that blends folk, rock, and Americana influences. Inspired by artists such as Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M., The Lumineers, and Neil Young, the band focuses on honest songwriting, strong melodies, and emotional connection.
Led by founder and songwriter Bob Sachnoff (Papa Satch), the band evolved from a solo project into a collaborative group. Bob handles lead and backing vocals and writes the core music and lyrics.
Papa Satch includes multi-instrumentalist Steve Ronsen, keyboardist John Zych, and additional members Jerry Cobin, Joe Michael, and Surya Gaur—all lead singers and multi-instrumentalists who co-wrote lyrics with Bob.
The band has been featured on Strutter, received a Golden Viking Award for Best Acoustic Rock Artist, and earned an “Excellent” rating from Music Review World for Waiting On A Sunny Day. Their latest release, Papa Satch & Company, marks a new chapter of collaboration and growth.

“Papa Satch and Company is a fantastic record, being the product of a collaboration between Bob Sachnoff, combined with the powerhouse of several singer/songwriter/musicians. This album has a great Americana Country feel to it, featuring relaxed tempo songcraft, saturated instrumental warmth and loads of personal connection and relevance. The production is spotless, there is good production creativity within its genre, and the real stand-out is the vocals, in every aspect: songwriting, performance/delivery, pre-production, production: these songs all entirely radiate from the power of the human voice. SCORE/Excellent: Bar one or two production choices that may not have quite landed as desired, this is a near spotless album, and a total joy to listen to. As a female listener, the real selling point of the album is all the male vocals that would melt any heart! Incredible delivery, authenticity, and range.”

“‘Waiting on a Sunny Day’ is the 9th album from the Long Island, New York based rock band Papa Satch, consisting of prolific songwriter Bob Sachnoff on vocals, multi-instrumentalist Steve Ronsen and keyboardist John Zych. The band’s style is primarily in the realm of country-rock with chiming guitar arpeggios riding over boisterous drums.
To a non-American, Papa Satch’s music is like the taste of a world that I am aware of through the music of Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, among others. A world home to a warm energy that makes you want to get up and do. It’s a feel-good, blue collar spirit that is already running through your pulmonary system by the 2-minute mark of opener ‘I’ll Be There (Remix)’. The song gives way to a tom-heavy pre-chorus perfect for the crowd to clap along to. Bob’s voice carries the aforementioned sentiment well too; it’s infectious and you can almost hear the grin in his delivery...Rating/Excellent”

“Papa Satch – “Picture”
-There’s a lot to appreciate about the classic style of this track from the guitars to the pacing of the lyrics. I really appreciate the subtlety of the vocal harmonies. The energy of the track reminds me a bit of Simon and Garfunkel; in folk circles, we don’t throw that comparison around easy, so when I say it I mean it. Papa Satch captures an acoustic-based sound that helps to convey lyrics about the emotions around looking at an image. It reminds me lyrically of the emotions I felt when I heard David Ramirez’s “Shoeboxes.” Fans of this type of upbeat folk rock style will be glad to see it connected with such a satisfyingly emotional lyrical message. It is relatable and meaningful for listeners.”

“Album Review Tell Me in a Whisper Album
Tell Me in a Whisper is a feel-good sunshine album with catchy choruses and super clean production.
To outsiders of the state like me, New York is seen as a gritty, cold state where the clouds are grey, and people often wear frowns. However, Papa Satch has a sunny upbeat aura in a similar vein to Bruce Springsteen or Steely Dan, both of whom are musicians from around the same area (don’t crucify me for saying New Jersey is the same as New York).
The song ‘Do You Believe’ kicks off the album with a fun lighthearted tone. The chorus is easy to sing along to, and the instrumentation has an instant feel-good factor that you just can’t shake off. Its nostalgic sound and golden-hued lyrics make it feel like a throwback song from way back when.
‘Picture’, has a similarly nostalgic atmosphere, this time with softer strings and well-written, relatable lyrics. “Looking at this picture is like opening a door, the things I will find there. .”

“PAPA SATCH – Tell Me In A Whisper
If you’re a fan of acoustic rock and classic rock, you should really check out the new album from independent artist PAPA SATCH. Tell Me In A Whisper is an eleven-track album that features soft and acoustic melodies.
The album Tell Me In A Whisper covers a lot of ground. Due to the bombardment of information, we are exposed to through media (regular and social), we are exposed to good and bad relationships.
We are not talking about the positive things in life, but about the complexities of life, such as Love, Anger, Emotion, Care, Fear, and grasping onto straws for some hope.
The first thing I noticed while listening to this album was how unique the sound was. It’s a mix of acoustics and classic rock with hints of folk, country, and soft rock thrown in for good measure. The vocals are clear and crisp.
My favourite track from the album is ”Trouble for Me”. It’s the 8th track of the album and is such an amazing vibe”

“:🎯THE MUSIC ROOM® INDIE ARTIST SPOTLIGHT March 2023 is PAPA SATCH! PAPA SATCH is a New York Based band you just got to hear. Their newest album "TELL ME IN A WHISPER" is another POP Rock classic for the group......”

“Recently we reviewed an album of the New York based PAPA SATCH, which is an act formed around singer/ songwriter Bob Sachnoff (PAPA SATCH) and multi-instrumentalist/lead singer STEVE RONSEN. Thankfully they sent 2 more albums they released, because they are up until now an undiscovered band in the AOR/Poprockscene. Soulful intent from 2017 and Fault lines from 2018 are the 2 other albums and both are an excellent collection of awesome pure 80s catchy AOR/Melodic Poprocksongs in classic BRYAN ADAMS, RICHARD MARX, RICK SPRINGFIELD, EDDIE MONEY (When I was a kid), BILLY SATELLITE and JIMMY DAVIS style. It's really enjoyable to finally hear an independent US act making this kinda music again instead of the countless Scandinavian bands or FRONTIERS signed bands. Anyway, the 2 full-length albums are filled with superb vocalwork and catchy hookladen songs that are really sounding like the good old American 80s AOR days we all miss so much..........”

“Papa Satch’s newest release, Echoes, draws the listener in the way a friend bearing their soul might. The songs are the voices of the emotional scars we all share. While the vocals maintain an unadorned yet searing quality throughout the song cycle, they are counterbalanced by the bands ability to produce a genre busting array of rock styles throughout the CD. There are crisp stretches of economical Petty-esque grit-pop, Dawes-like alt country , flashes of U-2 infused guitar, and even some Mona Lisa’s Sister era Graham Parker bombast. Echoes is confessional music at its best!”

“Out of New York comes PAPA SATCH, a band formed around singer/songwriter Bob Sachnoff (PAPA SATCH), multi-instrumentalist/lead singer STEVE RONSEN and keyboardplayer JOHN ZYCH. 11 songs are on their album Rebound and I must say it impressed me big time due to it's ultra-melodic and 80s rock vibe.”

“Papa Satch is a Long Island-based Rock duo consisting of Bob Sachnoff and Steve Ronsen. Their newest single, “Shallow Waters”, is a nice guitar-driven tune off their latest LP, “So Far ‘til Now”, which consists of ten well-crafted songs that combines classic Rock, Folk, and a touch of Country.
Fans of 80’s Pop, or admirers of Tom Petty, The Black Crowes, and REM will love “So Far ‘til Now” because it’s right down their musical alley. Nothing off the grid, just straight up Rock ‘n’ Roll that you grew up loving.”

“Papa Satch 'Open dreams' (Independent/USA Import)
Open dreams is the 3rd album of Papa Satch, a multi-instrumentalist from New York. Except for the playing by Phil Kennelty on Keyboards, he played all instruments himself on this album. In the past Papa Satch was a member of bands like Black Horizon, Blank Stare, Mercy Hit and Spoof, but is now trying to breakthrough as a solo musician. .... musically speaking we are surprised with a mixture of alternative pop/rock and a lot of 70s westcoast/American Yachtpop, which makes it very interesting to listen to. .............”
