Biography:

Saxophonist/Guitarist/vocalist Ben Senterfit is a journeyman musician. He has been gigging and performing professionally since he was fifteen years old. In the 1990's he began performing improvisational sessions with DJ Timbuk and fellow musicians, which would later prove to be the building blocks of The United Dope Front, a band that would release four CD’s and spearhead the “Acid Jazz” and groove scene in Colorado for seven years. From 2000-2008 Ben started CueZone Records with fellow musician Jarad Astin and the two recorded, produced and released 17 albums as an independent label. In 2008 he and Astin partnered with Kyle Jones (who produced the Platinum release "Fight With Tools" by The Flobots) to form Cuebro Productions. Their music has been featured in ads by Corona Beer, Nike as well as many Television shows.

Ben has performed with such musicians as Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, Maceo Parker, Spearhead, and Medeski, Martin and Wood. He has released two solo efforts and is releasing an new collection of songs in the fall of 2011. He also performs regularly in the Soul Jazz group The Dirty Boogaloo, based in Brooklyn, NY. Ben lives in the Hudson Valley where he performs, produces, and teaches at the Community Music Space in the town of Red Hook, NY.

“Somewhere in the world right at this moment, someone is making great art in front of a select, intimate group of people...someone who deserves more fame, more money, more recognition, but who volunteers his/her time and talent in the face of the immediate unavailability of any one (or all) of these things to be our surrogate on some collective, heroic journey. On Sunday night, I sat in a small, dark, hot room (The Stone) watching and listening as Ben Senterfit led his fearless quintet through a soulful set of music that was by turns meditative, chaotic, gritty, muscular and prayer-like. Like all great art, it had a destabilizing effect on my consciousness, calling into question basic assumptions I have about the way I live my life, the choices I make, the beliefs I have, the aesthetics I'm attached to.”
Howard Fishman - The Redemptive Power of Ben Senterfit

“Ben Senterfit has performed on better than 20 albums since hitting national spotlight as a member of The Wayfarers in the late 1980's. His CueZone Records has been a prolific supporter of Indie music since its inception in 2000.”

“The sounds coming from your stereo speakers when you listen to Ben Senterfit’s release Liberty will have you harkening back to the soulful sounds of the 60’s/70’s. The songs are filled with thick beats and heavy grooves with song arrangements that are very rich in their instrumentation. ”
C.W. Ross - C.W.'s Place

“Long time Denver resident and recent New York transplant, Ben Senterfit is coming home to the Mile High City, and he’s bringing an entourage with him. ”
