Singer-songwriter Andrea Ross-Greene moved to Los Angeles from Baltimore, Maryland to pursue her career in music. She plays guitar and keyboard. She loves to entertain audiences with her well-crafted songs, soulful voice and wry sense of humor. Andrea writes songs that are meant to move people, whether it’s through laughter or recognition that the listener is not alone. She also likes to write songs that chronicle her journey through life.
Her song Too Far Away, which is a memorial to a friend who died in the World Trade Center, has been heard worldwide and played in September 11 Commemorative events. Too Far Away is also included on the Schock Futures CD. Her song Forever Again is the theme song and underscore for the award-winning film The Silence After. In addition, Forever Again is one of the songs on the compilation CD Beautiful, produced by Joan Enguita and Red Coyote Records. The purpose of the Beautiful project is to raise funds for women’s crisis shelters.
Andrea has performed across the US at music festivals, college campuses, coffeehouses, nightclubs and special events. She plays keyboard and guitar and has played in various musical groups with styles including choral music, madrigals, folk, pop and rock bands.
Andrea also does backup vocals for Harriet Schock and other artists and she does studio vocals. She is known for her ability to create a very tight harmonic blend with other singers.
Andrea is also a professional photographer, specializing in concert, sport and nature photography.
“When you have a voice like this, showboating is both unnecessary and rather tawdry. Though comparisons are of limited use, I’ll go ahead – I hear elements of the late Phoebe Snow, and – unexpectedly – the creamy qualities of the Peterson sisters (from The Bangles). I have no reservations about associating Andrea with songwriters and singers of that calibre.
Now I say, with absolute honesty and not a trace of hyperbole, that Andrea’s album is a discreet, delightfully un-flashy masterpiece. I’m enjoying it considerably more than several recent major label offerings by some of my favourite singer/songwriters. Andrea’s music has taken beautiful form in the studio and it’s hard to imagine how a voice like hers could be captured badly. But without good songs, that wouldn’t amount to a great album. Andrea has not only written good songs, she’s written brilliant ones, ones that bring to mind the best efforts of Beth Nielsen Chapman, Brenda Russell and Andrea’s own mento”

“The compilation of 12 incredible, moving and thought-provoking songs are done with the perfection of the singer-songwriter’s years of practice. If practice makes perfect, “Forever Again” is as close to perfection as you can get. I not only enjoyed her CD, but I found myself understanding her harmonious and tough journey from way back East to Tinseltown.”
