Biography:

Since 1994, Ceilí Moss imposes its very own vision of folk-rock. Far from the usual “drink & holler ‘til you drop” clichés, this Belgian sextet is a cauldron in which sounds from Celtic to kleinkunst via ska, French chanson, blues, klezmer, Balkanbeat, medieval music or Scandinavia bubble nicely, and has become a sure, though discreet, shot in the Belgian folk scene, one you could somehow sum up as the missing link between The Pogues and Louise Attaque. After four albums and hundreds of gigs in Belgium, the Netherlands and France, notably in almost every folk festival in their country, their appetite is far from satisfied !

Press:

Dries Delrue - New Folk Sounds

“One of the most outstanding features of this album is the voice of their singer Laurent Leemans who has one of the warmest voices I have ever heard, a true pleasure to listen to. ”
Roos Glastra - Dark Roos

“One of my most surprising favourites of 2010!”
Ewan Spence - The Rock Show Revue of 2010

Bart Vanoutrive - Goe Vollek!

“Ceilí Moss are a real talented bunch of accomplished musicians, who at the drop of a hat can leap from sprightly energetic furores, into evocative atmospheric resignation and pained reflection.”
Dominic Valvona - Monolith Cocktail

Marc Bauduin - Le Canard Folk

Eric Piettre - Music In Belgium

“Nothing feels out of place, and it's a slick production too. ”
Walkin' T:-)M - Folkworld

“The musicianship is wonderful... the lead and harmony vocals are stellar.”
Todd from Isleboro - Noisehead

“I was lucky enough to be sent a copy of their new album and was blown away. Even if folk doesn't sit high on your listening list give 'em a go - you will not be disappointed (well you might, but at least you'll have tried)”
Big Ade - Tuna The Day

Bretagne balades

“If you took Gaelic Storm and The Glengarry Bhoys and put them in a blender... you'd have a drink made in Belgium that would go down smooth that never leaves a bad taste in your mouth and call it Ceili Moss.”
John Bowles - Paddy Rock webradio

“A lively collection of tunes that's solidly rooted in folk with just a little bit of rock and roll. They aren't as punk as the Pogues, but they have a bit of that attitude, and it gives them an edge many Celtic-pop groups lack.”
Genevieve Williams - Widdershins
