Our Future Leaders / Press

“The band’s rock music does not easily fit into any sub-categories, it is so different from one song to the next, showcasing the depth and range of the band members’ musical influences.”

“The Bullitt Bar was packed with music fans waiting to see Orlando band Our Future Leaders, a band that not only works hard promoting themselves, but also works just as hard promoting other bands as well as the local music scene. The band’s music combines several popular styles of rock music into one explosive, head-banging package and the music fans in attendance couldn’t have been happier with the result.”

“With a clear knack for versatility and ingenuity in their songwriting, Our Future Leaders keeps the fans guessing by blending multiple genres together to create their ideal musical concoction. While “Enemy” borders on the softer edge of alternative rock, tracks such as “Caliber” explode with a metallic influences and white-hot guitar solos. Visit their official website for a delicious bite of free streaming audio.”

“Featured artist on Reverbnation.com for the week of 10/16/2012”

““Machines” is an energy laced 5 song EP packed with blazing fast speed, intricate guitar, and some well put together, slower changes towards the end. Given that this is the first studio release from Our Future Leaders, the results are impressive. If this is any indication, their name might just be a self fulfilling prophecy.”

“Songs like "Enemy", "Kill The Youth" and "American Dream" are clear examples of the incredible talent within this band. The music is soaked with guitar thrashing and strong vocal performances that make for an album full of incredible songs. Each track is deserving of radio spins and could easily be the fix for any hardcore rock fiend just itching for an eargasmic experience. Our Future Leaders are the cream of the crop when it comes to strong rock vocals and power guitar chords. Their music should be supported, and after watching some of their live performance vids on the band's website, Our Future Leaders could easily rock the same stages as many of today's top touring rock bands.”

“From Orlando, FL comes this four piece rock band. The song submitted made a solid impression on me with its dueling guitar lines. They definitely got my attention. As the song progressed I was treated to big, big melodic choruses and one sweet breakdown before the band went into overdrive once again. Overall a very nice mix of classic metal and modern hard rock.”

“Machines EP Album Review - "I loved this album but I will say that I have trouble pin-pointing their genre, they have some very heavy songs and some songs that are almost pop....I would put this under the category of “must have”. Great sound, great album."”

“Kill the Youth - Top 10 Punk Winner for November 2011”

“Ranked 13th in Best of Rock for OurStage charts for 10 weeks!”

“Songs to be Rebellious To: "Kill the Youth" - Even with a compressor smashing this song to a flat mush, it manages to blaze its way into our head. This proves that music comes first and will always shine. Also, lo-fi punk? YES PLEASE!”

"Obtain" is a perfect example of where rock music should be heading. It's got a great bass line, fast drums, clean vocals, and a guitar sound that lures you in

“This isn’t just another rock band! Our Future Leaders are musicians in a world of rock music that has lost its musicianship by surplanting it with the mundane and cookie monster vocals. Our Future Leaders are becoming the new architects of a dying craft.”

“Curious as to how badass this band is? Listen to any of their songs and you will find your hand and arm in a fist-pumping motion with your body six inches off the ground continuously in what is called jumping.”

“..From the first song they deliver powerful riffs with hard hitting rhythm. There’s no stopping them. When I reached the song “Obtain” it was clear that this band has depth and range. The last song left me amazed. “American Dream” is a poetic, and meaningful song that shows us that these young men have great music future before them. I look forward to more original music from this group."”

"..The hard charging “Enemy” opens the EP with a prominent, searing guitar, which morphs throughout the song, at times dominating and other times blending smoothly with layered vocals. “Caliber” has a more Punk/Alternative sound with a fast, frenzied pace. The creamy vocals in “Kill the Youth” tempers the edgy music and gives the song a classic, psychedelic feel. In “Obtain” a classic tone spins around a Modern Rock sound in a swirling musical alliance. Closing the EP is the softer, “American Dream” with an acoustic guitar opening and velvety vocal layers drawing the listener along with the lyrical message “We offer up empty greetings and pointless banter / we don’t always have to be machines...."

"I think you guys have something really huge....I'm glad you're going to be apart of Orlando"

“Cant wait to hear more stuff, you guys are one of the best new rock band I've heard in a long time, keep it up”

“I did a lot of stuff with Central Florida Live..You guys were miles ahead of the competition”

“The style of these up-and-comers ranges from metal to punk to classic rock and the new single does not disappoint. ”

“You guys are sounding awesome...a lot of people are gonna want to check you out!”

“Our Future Leaders opened the show and proceeded to melt faces.. It’s always a pleasure to attend a show when the opening act blows away the main act. And this is exactly what happened... I was really impressed by the talent of the leader (Brian Strean). His range went from mellow to hard to punk rock with consistency. The talent of this band is something to watch... I’m happy that there are bands going in the energy direction like Our Future Leaders. It’s about time to get back to good powerful rock that gets your heart pounding and your blood pumping..”

Stephen Bray - Valencia College

“A trippy rock song that burst out with infectious sound that lure crowds into moshing along with it. The instrumentations were massively playing and it seem to get even better as it goes on. The drums and the guitars were intense and together they elevate the track even more. The artist has this striking versatile voice that delivered the lyrics effectively. He was melodic and can flawlessly turn crazy when the song calls for it.”

“These guys play some great, punky metal reminiscent of the NWOBHM movement from a while back”

"Pulling off whatever musical style he chooses - front man Brian Strean's unique vocals impart every bit of a song's emotion to listeners - taking a casual listener and turning them into rabid fans."

“One part gruff, yet melodic vocals, one part unbridled hard rock sensibility, one part searing guitar solos, and a dash of thunderous percussion make up Orlando, Florida’s latest musical sensation. Our Future Leaders dropped an atom bomb of a debut onto the alternative and hard rock community with Machines, containing moments of hair-raising choruses and head banging breakdowns.”
